If you’re picking the spread and not the money line, tonight’s Raptors/Magic game isn’t a sure thing. The Magic are 12-point favorites at home to the lowly Raps – but the Raptors won the last two meetings, both times at Orlando.
Toronto is freefalling in the Eastern Conference standings, having lost five straight games. However, The Raps have been solid picks against the spread lately. Despite being 0-5 straight up over their last five, they’re 4-1 ATS over that span. 
Looking closer, the Raps respond well when they’re expected to be blown out. They’re 5-1 ATS over their last five games as an underdog of 11 points or greater. Meanwhile, the Magic are 1-4 ATS over their last five games when favored by 11 or more points at home.
All those trends suggest that the Magic will struggle to cover the 12-point spread. Then again – will Dwight Howard and company come out angry after two straight defeats to the Raps? I’ll bet with my heart tonight. Orlando will want to make a statement after getting caught with its pants down the last two times out.
Also, Hedo Turkoglu wasn’t part of the Magic last time. You just know he’ll work extra hard to drive the knife into Toronto’s back.
