Houston’s business model crashed when Yao Ming went down for the season after playing just five games, and the Rockets are trying to get by with a hard-working bunch that runs up and down the court (4th in offense in the league) but gets sliced and diced on the glass on a regular basis. They could use a 7-foot-5 center to juice up their defense and half-court sets.
What is less obvious about the Rockets is their inability to play well at home – they’ve won at Atlanta, at Boston, at Utah and at Denver. But Houston is just 14-12 at home, and few teams with that type of record at home rarely make the playoffs.
