Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors Preview

On the season the Rockets are 55-39 ATS and they have an O/U record of 49-45 and the Warriors are 52-39-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 41-50-1.

This season the Warriors are 43-3 at home and the Rockets are 27-18 on the road.

In their last games the Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 108-95 and the Rockets beat the L.A. Clippers 113-100.

Not long ago it did not look like this would be the Western Conference finals match up, as the Warriors were down 2-1 to the Grizzlies and the Rockets were down 3-1 to the Clippers. However, both teams did not lose again and these teams will battle it out for a spot in the finals.

Razor Ray's Picks

The Warriors won all 4 regular season games against the Rockets. The 4 games were not even that close, as Golden State won the 4 games by an average of 15.3 ppg.

The Rockets can defend the 3 well with the length they have and they will need that in this game and series. The last series showed that to stop the Warriors you have to keep MVP from having big games, especially from deep. If the Rockets can guard him and Klay Thomson well and force them into bad shots they have a chance.

Dwight Howard missed 2 of the 4 games facing the Warriors this season and he was great in the last few games of the Clippers’ series. He must play well again and James Harden has to play like he did in Game 7.

Harden has to score as well as create and find his teammates like he did in Game 7 of the last series. Trevor Ariza buried 6 3-pointers in the Game 7 and he and the supporting cast have to help out Howard and Harden.

The Warriors were, by far, a league best 43-3 at home this season, but one of the losses came in the last series against the Grizzlies.

The Rockets have not won at Golden State since the 2013-2014 season.

NBA Betting Trends

* Houston is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games.
* Houston is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU win of more than 10 points.
* Golden State is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
* Golden State is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.
* Golden State is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against the Rockets.

4* Cappers NBA Free Pick

While the Warriors have covered the spread in their last 5 games against the Rockets I am going to buck that trend. Houston’s confidence has to be high after coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the last series and they may not win tonight, but they will cover the 10-point spread.
