Minnesota has also dropped nine of their last ten in the nation’s capital.

Minnesota

The Timberwolves have endured a lot of hardships so far this year. Both point guards, Ricky Rubio and Mo Williams, have been banged up all year which has made it extremely hard to get the offense going.

The offense ranks 20th in the league averaging 98.5 points per game.

However, first overall pick Andrew Wiggins has shown glimpses of brilliance. Wiggins is averaging 12.8 points per game to go along with 4.0 rebounds. He is beginning to understand what it takes to be successful in the league and Coach Saunders has been impressed with his freakish athletic ability.

The Timberwolves are allowing a league worst 115.6 points per game on the road this season, but history says do not count them out in this game just yet. Last year at home Minnesota blew out the Wizards 120-98 and then lost a close one on the road 104-100, although the Timberwolves did have Kevin Love.

Small forward Shabazz Muhammad is coming off a 28 point game, tying a career high, in the Timberwolves 100-94 loss against the Lakers. Wiggins has been playing very well as of late too, averaging 19.5 points per game over the last four games.

Washington

The Wizards have been dominant at home this year with a record of 12-2 and bring a four-game win streak into this contest. Their defense has been the main reason for success, only allowing 96.6 points per game which ranks 6th overall. The whole team has bought into the idea of defense including star point guard John Wall who has been extremely vocal about it.

Wall is leading the team in scoring with 17.7 points per game, followed by shooting guard Bradley Beal with 15.4 and center Marcin Gortat with 13.5.

In Sunday’s win over Utah Beal posted 22 points as John Wall had 16 to go along with five steals and three blocks. However, the defense was more impressive holding the Jazz to only 38.5% shooting.

Washington ranks among the top of the league in defensive statistics. They only allow 98.8 points per 100 possessions. Forcing turnovers and not allowing second chance points have been the main focuses.

The Wizards will look to keep rolling their win streak going and defend home court.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Timberwolves are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Timberwolves are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games following a ATS loss.
  • Timberwolves are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games vs. NBA Southeast.
  • Wizards are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games playing on 1 days rest.
  • Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five Tuesday games.
  • Home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.

NBA Gambling Prediction

Washington is playing excellent basketball and trying to make a name for themselves in the East. With Paul Pierce’s veteran leadership and a well-rounded team they will continue their dominance at home. Look for Washington to get up in this game early and never look back. John Wall will dominate in this one with nobody on Minnesota really being able to stop him.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: WSH -13

Minnesota has had problems all year covering the spread and you can look for it to continue here. Timberwolves have been horrible on the road and the Wizards have been dominant at home.

Wizards 107, Timberwolves 91
