The Pistons are on the rise in the East.
Detroit
The Pistons continue to strut since the release of Josh Smith. They are now on a three game winning streak after beating the Magic on the road earlier in the week.

All three wins have been by 10 points or more and they have covered in all three as well. The key has been an offense with much better flow instead of a huge black hole in the middle.
It would take a while but game by game it is looking like Detroit might threaten for that final playoff spot in the East. There is enough time left.
Last game Jodie Meeks exploded scoring 34 points off the bench and Andre Drummond wasn’t too bad either with 17 points and 22 rebounds.

Meeks made an amazing 9 of 11 three pointers and helped space the floor for Drummond and others.
The Pistons certainly have new life since they dropped Smith and they won at Orlando despite not getting much from Greg Monroe, their best player.
New York
It seems like things can’t get any worse for the Knicks these days.
They enter Friday amidst a nine game losing streak and outside of a couple of overtime games none of those have been close.
Injuries have not been kind to this team and heading into this one it looks like they will be without the services of of Amare Stoudemire and Sam Dalembert leaving them pretty thin in the middle.
If I were Drummond and Monroe I would be looking forward to a very nice day at the office on Friday.
The Knicks still have Melo but he has not been fabulous this season.
Even though he is leading the team in scoring, rebounding and assists his scoring is down this season, likely a result of not much in the way of a supporting cast.
He has always been a fairweather player and when time are tough he is not going to be the guy to dig you out.
