Coach Brent Brown is trying to keep his team focused on basketball instead of their record.

Brooklyn

The Nets are coming off a 99-87 loss to San Antonio and enter this contest having dropped six of their last seven. They are a veteran ball club led by point guard Deron Williams and power forward Kevin Garnett. Williams is averaging 18.5 points per game to go along with 6.4 assists.

Garnett is leading the team in rebounding with 8.3 per game.

Brooklyn took three of four from Philadelphia last year with the last three being decided by six points or fewer. They have no intention of ending Philadelphia’s winless streak according to Coach Hollins and his team.

Veteran shooting guard Joe Johnson has been stressing to his team that they need to take better shots and improve their team defense. The Nets are averaging exactly 100 points per game this year which is very average in this league, but however are allowing 101 points per game.

The Nets, who have recently been criticized by commissioner Adam Silver about their spending, need to start improving their record to show the league that going far over the luxury tax is worth something.

Philadelphia

There hasn’t been a lot of positive publicity surrounding the 76ers so far this year. Coach Brown has done his best to keep his team in good spirits despite their 0-14 start. Even though they have got off to a horrible start, there still is some upside. Their roster is full of young guys who are still learning how to play in the league.

Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, and Michael Carter-Williams were all studs in college and will hopefully go on to have successful professional careers. Along with Tony Wroten, who has been their best player, averaging 17.9 points per game.

The 76ers are among the league’s worst in all major categories. Their schedule does not get any easier either. With games coming up against the Mavericks, Spurs, and Thunder it is very uncertain where their first win of the season will come.

Philadelphia is coming off a 114-104 loss to the Blazers. The young stars looked good in their loss though. Carter-Williams dropped 24 points, to go along with Wroten’s 20 and nine assists.

The motivated 76ers are just four losses away from tying the Brooklyn Nets for the worst start in NBA history at 0-18.

NBA Handicapping Trends

  • 76ers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a double digit loss at home.
  • Nets are 0-4 ATS in their last four Wednesday games.
  • Nets are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 head to head meetings.
  • 76ers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games at home.

NBA Gambling Prediction

Brooklyn is concluding their three game road trip with a trip to Philadelphia. For Philadelphia to get their first win of the season they will have to shoot the ball exceptionally well from three and catch some breaks on the defensive end. If there is any time to bet on the 76ers, it would be now.

They were close against the Trail Blazers having led by six early in the second half. Brooklyn is coming to Philadelphia on a road trip and could possibly be looking past this game. Look for a low scoring and most likely non-entertaining sort of game.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: Philadelphia +8!!!!

Expect a high turnover type of game. The older Nets team will look to play a half court game where as the young 76er line-up will try to run baseline to baseline. Contrary to popular belief, I like Philadelphia to come out and get their first win of the year!

This is their best chance to do so against an older team who is coming to town on a road trip.

Philadelphia 97, Brooklyn 89

If it doesn’t happen against the Nets, it will not happen anytime soon.
