The Athletics (48-30) will look to take advantage of a tired Marlins bullpen as they aim to post their seventh win in nine outings.

Oakland arrives in Florida coming off a 8-5 win over the New York Mets on Wednesday, which was fueled by Coco Crisp, who homered among three hits to continue his plate domination. He has hit safely in 22 of his last 25 contests.

But Crisp isn’t the only one with a torrid bat. Yoenis Cespedes is also on fire, hitting 12 RBIs during his 10-game hitting streak.

That firepower will be matched by youngster Anthony DeSclafani who will take the mound for Miami in game one. The 24-year-old won his major-league debut on May 14, but has shown poorly ever since. DeSclafani permitted a season-worst seven runs in a 3 2/3 innings loss to the Mets his last time out, and has allowed a homer in each of his four starts this season.

Meanwhile, the Miami (39-40) lineup hasn’t been at its best and couldn’t get it done, losing to Philadelphia 5-3 in extra extra innings on Thursday.

They have gotten some production from third baseman Casey McGehee, who has hit safely in eight of his last nine contests, but it wasn’t enough against the Phillies, as Miami suffered its 10th loss in 15 outings.

In an effort to turn things around, the Marlins will hand the ball to Jesse Chavez who despite pitching well last Saturday, had to settle for a no-decision after allowing just three hits over seven scoreless innings against Boston.

The veteran right-hander didn’t do so well against Miami during his last meeting, however, allowing six runs in as many innings back when he was with Toronto in 2012/

The 31-year-old has not allowed a home run in each of his last three starts and has only yielded nine long balls in 93 innings this season.
