The Mets and Orioles finish up a brief two game interleague series Wednesday night inside Camden Yards. The Mets took the first of two Tuesday night 5-3.
The win gave the Mets their 9th straight win over Baltimore as they keep on rolling right along. Curtis Granderson played hero in the winning effort as he belted two solo home runs en route to a their win.

The win also put the end to a 3 game losing streak New York was currently in the midst of. With the win, it held the Mets 4.5 game lead over the Nationals in NL East.
New York will send RH Noah Syndergaard to the mound to try and complete the sweep while the Orioles will counter with RH Ubaldo Jimenez.
New York Mets
It seems like just about everyone has been waiting for the Mets to fade this season. Through some tough losses the featured some less than intelligent defensive miscues, the Mets haven’t broke stride as they hold a 4.5 game lead in the NL East.

However, on the road, Syndergaard has been a mess. In his last start, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in just 4 innings of work in a losing effort to Tampa Bay.
Syndergaard has allowed 5 home runs over his last 3 starts which is a bit unorthodox for him. He allowed 3 home runs over his previous 13 starts combined.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles loss on Tuesday dropped them to 5.0 games back in a crowded AL East. Currently, Baltimore sits in 3rd place, 4 games behind 2nd place Toronto and 2.5 ahead of 4th place Tampa.
In terms of the Wild Card, Baltimore dropped to a 0.5 behind the Angels for the 2nd Wild Card spot as Los Angeles knocked off Chicago for a 2nd straight night.
Looking to get back on track, the Orioles will send RH Ubaldo Jimenez to the hill. The RH has been a solid option this year as he brings in a 9-7 record with just a 3.92 ERA.
Jimenez labored in his last start against Oakland as he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in just 5.0 innings of work in a no decisions effort.

Back on May 6th, Jimenez allowed 3 runs in just 4.0 innings of work in a losing effort to the Mets.
The loss dropped the Orioles’ RH to 2-4 in his career against New York.
