Winners of six of their last 13 since Kemp was placed on the DL, Los Angeles will aim to stick to its winning ways when they host the slumping Milwaukee Brewers in a Memorial Day opener of a four game home series.

Losers of four of their last six, the Brewers will be sending Shaun Marcum to a mound that’s far away from Miller Park.
Marcum looks to continue his solid work on the road after his worst outing of the season on Tuesday.

The veteran righty allowed a season-high six runs in six innings, while striking out five to lose 6-4 to San Francisco.
The 30-year-old yielded that has three earned runs or fewer in each of his previous eight starts has yet to lose to the Dodgers in his career, going 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA in three outings.

Something that shouldn’t faze a Dodgers (32-15) lineup that is averaging 4.8 runs per game without Kemp. Up from a major-league best 4.4 runs per game before his absence. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

It appears at least for now that the rest of the team has stepped in to fill the void, especially Jerry Hairston Jr. who had a career-high five hits in Sunday’s 5-1 victory over Houston.

Another factor here in the Dodgers favor, will be that they have played particularly well at home, winning five of its last six and 14 of 17 at Dodger Stadium, while Milwaukee has dropped four of five and nine of 12 on the road.

Aaron Harrang will start opposite of Marcum, and much like him, struggled his last time out as he surrendered five runs over 4 1/3 innings at Arizona on Tuesday before escaping with a no-decision.

The 34-year-old has lost just once in eight starts since dropping his season debut, and improved to 6-5 lifetime against the Brewers with a victory at Milwaukee on April 19 in which he yielded three runs in six frames.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Los Angeles– To make matters worse, injuries are starting to pile up for the Brewers. I just don’t see how they walk away with any close to resembling a win in this one.
