Game time from Citizens Bank Park is set for 7:05 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

San Francisco heads into this series with seven wins in its last 10 games and series wins in its last four. The Giants are currently four games ahead of Arizona in the NL West with an overall record of 59-43.

They are 32-18 at home and 27-25 on the road this year.

Pitching continues to be this team’s strong suit as San Francisco leads the NL with a team ERA of 3.08. Tim Lincecum missed his last scheduled start due to the flu, but is expected to be on the mound on Wednesday. He is 8-8 this season with an ERA of 2.90. A solo home run was his undoing the last time out, as he pitched over seven innings against the Dodgers but still got tagged with the loss.

Linceum is 2-1 with a 3.17 ERA against the Phillies in his career.

Philadelphia’s five-game winning streak came to an end with a 5-4 loss to the Padres on Monday afternoon as a 225 home favorite. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The loss dropped the Phillies to 64-37 on the year coming into this series, but they still have a six-game lead over Atlanta in the NL East after the Braves lost on Monday as well.

The potent Philadelphia pitching staff is right behind the Giants in the rankings with a team ERA of 3.13. The Phillies will go with Cole Hamels as their starter for this one. He is having one of the best years of his career with a 2.62 ERA and a WHIP of 0.96. He is 12-5 in 21 starts overall and 5-3 in his last 10.

Lifetime against San Francisco, Hamels is 4-2 with an ERA of 4.67.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the Giants eliminated the Phillies from the NLCS in six games on their way to winning the World Series last year. The 2010 regular season series was tied 3-3 with each team going 2-1 at home.

Stick with the Phillies in this one, as Hamels stays true to form to lead his team to the win in what should be a classic pitching duel.
