After winning Game 1, the Cubs (27-22) lost to host Miami on Tuesday, 5-2. Despite the loss, Cubs 25-year-old shortstop Starlin Castro picked up his 900th career hit during the game, becoming the youngest Cubs player to amass 900 hits.

Meanwhile, Miami (20-32) looks to notch back-to-back series victories for the first time in a month and will hope that Marcell Ozuna can repeat his Game 2 performance. Ozuna clubbed a bases-clearing three-run double to provide some much-needed Cubs’ offense, while Giancarlo Stanton notched his 16th home run.

The Cubbies kept pace, but once again wasted a lot of scoring opportunities, going 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Chicago will send veteran pitcher Jon Lester to the mound tonight. The southpaw los his last time out, despite matching season-high 10 strikeouts while giving up two runs over seven innings in a 3-0 to the Nationals. He 31-year-old is 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA in two career starts against the Marlins, but he hasn’t faced them since 2009.

The Marlins will counter with a veteran of their own in Dan Haren. The 34-year-old right-hander has pitched well of late, surrendering just four runs over his last 21 innings.

Haren is coming off a win in his last start, after holding the Mets to jus two runs over seven innings despite. He did give up to homers however, and is 2-3 with a 5.71 ERA in seven appearances with Cubs during his career.

The all-time regular-season series between these two teams is tied 87-87 overall, 42-42 in Miami.

And since Haren has good success at home so far this year, I look for him to continue that trend, helping his team to win, while improving his2-0 / 1.45 ERA record in front the hometown fans.
