Boston Red Sox vs. Texas Rangers MLB Preview & Free Pick

Red Sox vs Rangers MLB Betting + Handicapping Picks

Two of the most dynamic offenses in the game square off when the Boston Red Sox visit the Texas Rangers Tuesday evening. The Texas lineup has actually been in a major slump of late, but most still consider them the best lineup in baseball.

Boston is starting to get healthy, and that has to be frightening for opposing pitchers. Let’s take a look at this offensive matchup.

Boston has had more injury problems than just about anyone this year, but the lineup is starting to get healthy. Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford are back in the lineup, which makes this team much more dangerous. The speed at the top of the order is tough to handle. David Ortiz was having a great year, but he is on the disabled list with a heel injury. Despite all the injuries this season, the Red Sox are averaging 4.95 runs per game. This team could easily make a run at the playoffs as they get healthy. Clay Buchholz started the year miserably. He has been a bit better of late, but the Red Sox need more from him if they are going to be in the postseason. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Until last night, the Texas lineup had been in a slump of late. The Rangers piled up nine runs on Boston in the series opener last night. Josh Hamilton was absolutely on fire early in the year, but he has cooled off a bit lately. He still leads the team with 28 homers and 80 RBI’s, but he was on a much higher pace earlier this year. Adrian Beltre is hitting .315 with 18 homers and 61 RBI’s. Hamilton and Beltre are a great combination in the number three and four spots in the order. The strength of this Rangers lineup is their depth. Anytime you have Nelson Cruz or Mike Napoli batting in the seven spot you know your lineup is stacked. Youngster Martin Perez will make the third start of his career for the Rangers.

Expect lots of runs in this one. The Red Sox punish left-handed pitching, and the Rangers should get to Buchholz. In the end, I think Boston comes out on top here.
