MLB Betting Parlay – Yankees vs. Royals + Blue Jays vs. Angels

MLB Betting Previews – Thursday May 3 Parlay

There are a number team’s wrapping up a series on Thursday, but we uncovered the perfect parlay for a couple of series that are getting a jump on the weekend with a Game 1 matchup.

The following is a look at two picks that can be combined into a two-team parlay that will get your weekend off to a fast start as well.

Game 1- New York Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals
Money Line: New York -125 Kansas City +115
Total Line: 7.5

New York wraps-up a three-game set with Baltimore at home on Wednesday before kicking-off Game 1 of a four-game series with the Royals. David Phelps will be making his first Major League start in this after turning in an impressive stint in the bullpen where he struck out 14 batters in 17 2/3 innings of work.

Kansas City will go with Danny Duffy as its starter for Thursday’s game. The left-hander is 1-2 in his first three starts this season with an ERA of 3.63. He missed his last turn in the Royals’ rotation with stiffness in his elbow, which has led to some control problems in the past.

The Yankees have won six of their last eight games on the road and are 4-0 in Game 1 of their last four series. Kansas City is 2-7 in its last nine games against a team with a winning record and 6-18 in their last 24 games overall. Stick with New York as rookie starter Phelps comes up big in his MLB debut. Game 2- Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Angels
Money Line: Toronto +105 Los Angeles -115
Total Line: 7

The Blue Jays will send one of their hottest starters to the mound for Game 1 of this four-game series in Brandon Marrow. His last time out, the right-hander pitched six scoreless innings while striking out nine batters. He is now 2-1 on the year with a 3.03 ERA. Marrow is 0-3 with an ERA of 5.03 against the Angels.

Los Angeles continues to try and shake-off a slow start that has it already eight games out of first in the AL West. It will go with Dan Haren as its starter in this one. He is 1-1 with a 3.34 ERA and coming off a gem last Saturday against Cleveland where he gave-up one run on four hits in eight full innings. Haren’s ERA is now 1.64 over his last three starts.

Toronto is 2-5 in Game 1 of its last seven series and 1-6 in Morrow’s last seven starts in a Game 1 of a series. Los Angeles is 4-1 in its last five home games and 2-1 in its last three home games against the Blue Jays. The fatigue factor plus the Blue Jays past Game 1 trends tip the scales in the Angels favor for the back-end of the parlay.
