With everyone well-rested from the four-day break, we have carefully analyzed all the pitching matchups on Friday’s slate of games to uncover a two-team parlay that promises to get your weekend off to a profitable start.

Game 1- Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles
Money Line: Detroit +105 Baltimore -125
Total Line: 8.5

Matchup | Preview

Detroit will try and start the second half on a winning note with Doug Fister on the mound. The right-hander earned his second win of the season his last time out, but still gave-up four runs on eight hits.

He is now 2-6 overall with a 4.75 ERA. Fister is 2-1 against the Orioles with an ERA of 4.68.

Baltimore will start this weekend series off with Jason Hammel as its starter. He is 8-5 on the year with a 3.47 ERA. The right-hander has been the Orioles most consistent starter all season long; giving-up four or less earned runs in nine of his last 10 outings.

The Tigers are 2-8 in Fister’s last 10 starts and 0-6 in his last six starts on the road. Baltimore is 6-0 in Hammels’ last six starts with five days of rest and 5-2 in his last seven starts at home. The Orioles have won three of the last five against Detroit and have the matchup on the mound to make it four of six on Friday night. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Game 2- Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Money Line: Pittsburgh +110 Milwaukee -115
Total Line: 7

Matchup | Preview

Pittsburgh’s quest for the NL Central title begins with James McDonald on the mound for Friday night. The right-hander is one of the primary reasons the Pirates currently lead the division with a 9-3 record in 17 starts and a stellar 2.37 ERA. He is 1-2 with a 4.84 ERA against the Brewers.

Milwaukee will try and make-up some ground in the NL Central with Zack Greinke getting the start on Friday night. He has also pitched very well this season with a 9-3 record and 3.32 ERA in 19 starts.

He is 4-1 against the Pirates with an ERA of 5.17.

The Pirates are just 8-44 in their last 52 games in Milwaukee, but 5-1 in McDonald’s last six starts on the road and 4-1 in his last five starts against the NL Central. Pittsburgh has already won two of three against the Brewers on the road this season and four of the last seven overall.

This game could turn into a pitchers’ duel, but stick with McDonald to come-up with the better effort to help secure the back-end of this parlay.
