NFL Week 2 The The Over/Under was set at Recap

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Week two saw offense take center stage as nine games went over and eight teams scored 30 or more points on their own. For the most part, the seven games that stayed under were well below their predicted totals especially the Patriots-Jets game which was a shocker.

The following is a recap of each game’s The Over/Under was set at NFL betting line and the actual results.

LOOKING FOR THE BEST NFL HANDICAPPING EXPERTS ON THE PLANET? WE KNOW WHERE THEY ARE —–>

Carolina Panther at Atlanta Falcons
The Over/Under was set at 43 || Result 48 OVER

QB Matt Ryan along with TE Tony Gonzalez and RB Michael Turner has this Falcon offense in gear and scoring points. Carolina looked a bit more like last year’s team.

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
The Over/Under was set at 45.5 || Result 40 UNDER

Detroit actually had a 10 -0 lead in this game before it they let it all slip away. The Vikings are another offense that has consistently scoring points.

Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers
The Over/Under was set at 42 || Result 55 OVER

They Bengals were able to put week one’s loss to Denver behind them and beat the Packers on the road. It is amazing that despite the sloppy play by both teams, they still put this many points on the board.

Arizona Cardinals at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Over/Under was set at 44 || Result 48 OVER

The Cardinals showed they are still a team that can score points as veteran QB Kurt Warner put on a passing clinic against the Jaguars.

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs
The Over/Under was set at 39.5 || Result 23 UNDER

After watching both these offenses play, I’m still wondering how they managed to put 23 points on the board. Kansas City moved the ball at will and was still unable to find the end zone.

New England Patriots at N.Y. Jets
The Over/Under was set at 45 || Result 23 UNDER

Give all the credit in the world to Rex Ryan and this Jets defense as they made life absolutely miserable for Tom Brady. Without Wes Welker he seemed lost.

New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles
The Over/Under was set at 46 || Result 70 OVER

If teams keep giving the Saints’ offense a short field to work with, Brees and Co. will put up 40+ points on anybody.

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans
The Over/Under was set at 41 || Result 65 OVER

This one was a shocker as I expected the defense to dominate. For the first few weeks it will be hard to know what to expect from the Texan’s offense.

St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins
The Over/Under was set at 37 || Result 16 UNDER

At first I thought the Cardinals were playing the Nationals in a day game. These two teams put the word offense in offensive.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills
The Over/Under was set at 42 || Result 53 OVER

Tampa Bay could be a great over team all season as they give up a ton of points, but manage to score quite a few of their own.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers
The Over/Under was set at 39.5 || Result 33 UNDER

The 49er ground game with RB Frank Gore chewed up the clock keeping the Seattle offense on the bench. A rib injury to Matt Hasselbeck in the 2nd quarter didn’t help Seattle’s chances either.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Chicago Bears
The Over/Under was set at 37.5 || Result 31 UNDER

You have to give credit to Bears’ QB Jay Cutler for shaking off last week’s performance and beating one of the best defensive teams in the league.

Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos
The Over/Under was set at 37 || Result 33 UNDER

Denver is getting it done with some smoke and mirrors but they are still 2-0. Cleveland is another team whose offense is still MIA for the 2009 season.

Baltimore Ravens at San Diego Chargers
The Over/Under was set at 40.5 || Result 57 OVER

Baltimore has turned into a scoring machine scoring over 30 points in each of their first two games. Their defense was able to stop the Chargers when they needed to.

N.Y. Giants at Dallas Cowboys
The Over/Under was set at 44 || Result 64 OVER

So much for a low scoring NFC East defensive battle. Give credit to Eli Manning for utilizing the receivers he has to get a big win in Big D.

Monday, Sept. 21

Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins
The Over/Under was set at 42 || Result 50 OVER

Peyton Manning is the only quarterback who can score 28 points while having the ball for less than 15 minutes the whole game.

The The Over/Under was set at lines should start getting a bit tighter as we are starting to get a good feel for which teams can score and which teams cannot.
