Ready for NFL Week 3? We provide a sneak peek at what’s to come this weekend, and what happened last from an ATS betting perspective…

NFL Wrap-Up & Look Ahead

The NFL Week 2 action is now in the books, so it’s time to take a look back at some of the happenings from this past weekend, plus preview some of what’s on tap for the coming weekend. Lines are already up for all the games at Sportsbook.com.

It’s not panic time in New England, however things are amiss. Tom Brady is just not in the flow and apparently not ready to trust his knee 100 percent. Sure the New York Jets brought a lot of pressure, but it’s not anything Brady hasn’t seen before. With two suspect performances under their belt, things don’t get any easier for the 1-1 Patriots, as they face a tough tilt with 2-0 Atlanta next.

What’s the biggest difference in the Jets though? Perhaps a coach that believes in his team. Yes, Mark Sanchez has played well, but Rex Ryan has convinced his players they are good and gives them the freedom to succeed. New York’s win over New England improved its September home mark to 8-20 ATS as it gets ready to host Tennessee on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers defense was shredded by Cincinnati and its offensive line yielded five sacks to Antwaan Odom. The Pack heads to St. Louis boasting a 9-2 ATS record on the road off a loss in the Mike McCarthy era.Sports Betting at Sportsbook.com

San Diego has line problems on both sides of the ball; unfortunately, it looks like survival mode again for a while. The Chargers have Miami on a short week at home; however, are just 1-7 SU & ATS vs. the Fins.

How about Jamarcus Russell, Jay Cutler, and Peyton Manning saving their teams with late heroics? The numbers didn’t look great for Russell & Cutler, but both the Raiders and Bears made comebacks to even their records at 1-1. Oakland could go over .500 for the first time since the beginning of the 2004 season with a home win over Denver this week. Manning managed to produce around 300 yards passing without even possessing the ball for 15 minutes!

The Monday night game this week between Carolina & Dallas boasts a lot of strong trends. The Cowboys are 4-17-1 ATS off a home loss as they look to bounce back from the disappointing loss to the Giants. Carolina is on a 6-1 ATS stretch in pre-bye week road games, and amazingly, underdogs have covered 12 straight Panthers’ pre-bye week games. Dogs are also 7-2 ATS in the L9 head-to-head meetings between these teams.

Touchdown or greater favorites in the NFL were a heinous 0-3 ATS this past weekend, with favorites 7-9 overall. Home underdogs were again losers at 2-3 and are 3-6 ATS on the season.
