NFL Football Betting – Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

The National Football League will head north of the border to Toronto for its 14th week of football betting action where BetUS customers will get a chance to wager on Sunday’s game between the Miami Dolphins (7-5, 5-7 ATS) and the Buffalo Bills (6-6, 5-7 ATS).  Earlier this season, the Fins knocked the Bills off 25-16 as one-point home underdogs to snap a streak of eight straight covers by Buffalo in this series. The Bills haven’t lost in Orchard Park to Miami since 2003, but this game will be played in Rogers Centre, not Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The winner of this game will take a huge step towards a playoff birth, while the loser will likely be out of contention for the AFC East crown and get put on life support for a playoff birth.

The Dolphins weren’t the most impressive team in the world last Sunday, but they did enough to get the job done in their 16-12 road victory against St. Louis. The normally efficient QB Chad Pennington had one of his worst games of the season, completing just 13 of 23 passes for 166 yards. RBs Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown had strong games, combining to carry the ball 27 times for 102 yards and the only offensive touchdown of the day for Miami.

The story was the defense though, which picked off QB Marc Bulger three times and kept the Rams offense out of the end zone for the full 60 minutes of play. It was no consolation for sports betting fans that backed the Fins though, as they lost their fourth straight NFL betting decision. It was the fifth time in six Miami games that resulted in an ‘under’ for ‘total’ bettors.

After opening up the season with four straight victories, Buffalo is beginning to look at lot more like a pretender than a contender in the loaded AFC. Sunday’s game with San Francisco might’ve been the low point of the season, as they lost 10-3 to the Niners in a game plagued by horrible weather. QB Trent Edwards only went 10/21 for 112 yards, and left the game injured. JP Losman didn’t do much better in relief, completing 11 of 17 passes for 93 yards.

In spite of the fact that the Bills outgained the 49ers 350-195, Buffalo was the team that couldn’t find the end zone. K Rian Lindell only went 1/3 on field goals, which really kept the Bills behind the eight-ball all afternoon.

In its six victories this season, Buffalo is averaging 31 points per game. In its six defeats, it’s averaging a paltry 15 PPG. As a result, Buffalo bettors have seen consistent betting patterns. The six victories have resulted in a 4-2 record for ‘over’ bettors, while the six losses have resulted in a 3-2-1 mark for ‘under’ bettors.

Oddsmakers are expecting a close game, as the Bills have been tabbed as slender one-point favorites with the game ‘total’ set at 42. Buffalo is 0-3 SU and ATS this season against the AFC East, while Miami is 2-2 both SU and ATS.
