Week seven is almost in the books and there were some truly amazing performances. Some new Studs are in the good books this week and some new Duds have emerged as well!

A special shout out goes to DeAngelo Hall this week – he had four interceptions off one of our Duds this week!

Without further adieu, here is Dave B’s Week 7 version of the Studs and Duds list.

Studs of the Week:

Darren McFadden – Oakland Raiders – It was questionable whether or not McFadden would play this week, but the Raiders are happy he hid. McFadden had 16 carries for 165 yards and three touchdowns and two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. 192 combined yards and four touchdowns is the best Fantasy day that I can ever remember!

Kenny Britt – Tennessee Titans – Insane! Absolutely Insane! Britt went from the Doghouse to the Penthouse in one game! 7 catches for a mind-boggling 225 yards and three touchdowns on the day have Britt as a worthy Stud on the Week.

Other Studs:

QBs

Carson Palmer – Cincinnati Bengals – Palmer put to rest all of the rumours about his demise. In a losing effort, Palmer passed for an incredible 412 yards and three touchdowns. He was superb!

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Matt Ryan has been so-so this season but Sunday’s effort elevated him to the Stud category. I’ll take 299 yards and three touchdowns from my QB anytime.

Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers – Ben was hitting Hines Ward all day long and it is a good thing because another Steeler graces the Dud list for the first time. Ben was 19/27 for 302 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7.

Honourable Mention: Matt Moore – Carolina Panthers, Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo Bills

RBs

Michael Turner – Atlanta Falcons – Turner was a beast in Week 7 in a high scoring game. He rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns and added two catches for 23 yards as well.

Thomas Jones – Kansas City Chiefs – Jones averaged over six yards per carry in Week 7, gained 125 yards and scored a touchdown to help the Chiefs beat up the Jags. He continues to be a Stud!

Frank Gore – San Francisco 49ers – Don’t blame Gore for San Fran’s brutal record. Gore had 159 combined yards on just 23 touches in a game in which the 49ers looked absolutely terrible.

Honourable Mention: Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings

WRs

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – It’s hard not to love this guy. White managed 11 grabs, 201 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7. He could have been on the Stud list every week this season – what a beauty!

Lee Evans – Buffalo Bills – I never thought that a Buffalo player would ever be a Stud but six catches for 105 yards and three touchdowns against Baltimore makes him very worthy of the honour. He was a close runner-up for Stud of the week.

Dwayne Bowe – Kansas City Chiefs – Bowe is finally starting to play like the Stud that we all expected. Although he only had three catches, Bowe gained 81 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Honourable Mention: Steve Johnson – Buffalo Bills, Percy Harvin – Minnesota Vikings

Dud of the Week:

Rashard Mendenhall – Pittsburgh Steelers – There was a lot expected of Mendenhall this week but just 37 yards rushing on 15 attempts was not quite what we all had in mind.

Other Duds:

QBs

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Wow – didn’t see this one coming! Brady was held to under 50 yards passing in the first half and ended up with 159 yards passing and one touchdown on the day – Dud!

Kyle Orton – Denver Broncos – Orton’s was off all day long and ended up with only 198 yards passing, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 7. It was his first really bad day this season but there is no denying that Orton was a true Dud on Sunday.

Jay Cutler – Chicago Bears – His passing totals were not terrible – 281 yards but four interceptions – all to DeAngelo Hall made Cutler a Dud in Week 7. He added a fumble on the day and only passed for one touchdown for the reeling Bears.

Honourable Mention: Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings

RBs

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – Williams should have had a huge day but he continues to be stuck in the mud. 44 yards rushing on 19 carries left fantasy owners pulling out their hair once again.

Ronnie Brown – Miami Dolphins – I know that he was playing the Steelers but 34 combined yards in a crucial game is unacceptable.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Johnson didn’t even average three yards per carry on Sunday. He rumbled for 66 yards on 24 carries and failed to find the end zone. Johnson was projected to be one of the highest contributors on Sunday but failed to deliver anything but a Dud performance.

Honourable Mention: Matt Forte – Chicago Bears, Chris Ivory – New Orleans Saints

WRs

Jeremy Maclin – Philadelphia Eagles – With no DeSean Jackson, Maclin figured to have a huge Week 7 but 42 yards on five catches proved otherwise.

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – The most reliable receiver in football delivered a Dud on Sunday. He only had four catches for 25 yards on a day that most of the Patriots Studs were Duds.

Brandon Lloyd – Denver Broncos – One of the best Fantasy WRs of this season was a complete Dud this week. If not for the 1 catch for 46 yards with 6 minutes left to go in the game, he would have been Dud of the Week.
