NFL Week 4 Fantasy Football Tips

This is our waiver wire pick-ups column. The staff will scour the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best available talent every week. Availability, of course, depends on the league. We’re using 12 team, 15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes and sizes. Grab the following before NFL Week 4.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our cheatsheets, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide. Without wasting any more of your time, here is the Week 4 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickup List, for the NFL games going on this week (Week 4). Good Luck!!!

QUARTERBACKS

1. Brian Griese, Buccaneers
What the Fock was Gruden thinking on Sunday? Griese attempted an amazing 67 passes in Sunday’s game against the Bears. Will his shoulder even work this week vs. the Packers? With long-term upside and short-term value, Griese is worth a look in all leagues.

2. Kerry Collins, Titans
The Titans play host to Minnesota this week, and Minni brings in the #21 ranked pass-d. But I say Collins is a decent bye week replacement since the Vikings can be passed on.

RUNNING BACKS

1. Correll Buckhalter, Eagles
Westbrook is injured as usual, so, Correll Buckhalter is his backup and he’s worth owning in all leagues at this point. I seriously doubt BW will be sidelined for long, which limits Buckhalter’s value, but with Philly having such a potent offense you need to grab Cbuck.

2. Le’Ron McClain, Ravens
We have a bonified RBBC in Baltimore, and McClain carried the ball 17 times on Sunday to further complicate things for McGahee owners…plus he’s getting goalline touches, so scoop him up. McClain is a solid acquisition in all leagues.

3. Rashard Mendenhall, Steelers
With Fast Willie on the bench this week, Mendenhall gets the start. But it’s vs. Baltimore. Oh oh. Mewelde Moore will also see his touches increased, further downgrading Mendenhall’s value. We say own him, but don’t start him, and if you own Willie you should already own him.

4. Pierre Thomas, Saints
Per our week 3 WW comments….If Reggie Bush were to go down with an injury….

WIDE RECEIVERS

1. Antonio Bryant, Buccaneers
Who? Yes you heard me, Antonio Bryant, the ex-Brown, ex-49er, ex-???, thought he was out of the league didn’t you? He turned in a monster performance in Week 3 and could be a steal if Gruden continues his pass-happy ways.

2. Brandon Lloyd, Bears
Clearly the Bears top receiver, as Griese looked for him 10x vs. the Bucs. (including OT). The Vikings, Falcons, and 2 games vs. The Lions on the horizon. Grab him now.

3. Chansi Stuckey, Jets
The Jets 3rd WR has posted a touchdown in three straight games, and has earned the trust of Favre. Is worth consideration in all leagues, especially with 6 teams on their bye

4. Bobby Engram, Seahawks
Bye in week 4, should return for week 5 and start immediatly

5. Deion Branch, Seahawks
Bye in week 4, should return for week 5 may not start though…

TIGHT ENDS

1. Jerramy Stevens, Buccaneers
Week 3 vs. The Bears saw Stevens grab 5 balls for 61 yards and a touchdown. Is worth a look in all formats in Week 4 vs. the Packers

D/ST

1. Denver Broncos
The Chiefs horrible offense in Week 4 (Insert Picture of Broncos licking chops) …Start Week 4 vs. KC
