Who’s HOT —and NOT For Week 3 Fantasy Football

Looking for Internet Fantasy Predictions then look no further than our experts weighing in on weekly fantasy football topics.

Who’s HOT —and NOT

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire. If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench.

Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind. The more research you do, and the moreHOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

HOT
Leading the Heat this week is Jay Cutler who not only saved 2 pts with a non-fumble fumble but then scored you 8 with a TD and 2-pt late in last weeks game vs the Chargers. That’s a 10 pt bonus in less than 20 seconds of game time and this week he gets the Saints who had Jason Campbell throwing up 300+ against them last week. You own Cutler start him no question for 300+ and 3TD HOT

Honorary HOT this week may be time to give Matt Hasselback a chance to win you a week. He faces the RAMS D. That’s all you need to hear really, because he still has limited receiving help and a suspect running game but it’s the Rams so 300+ pass yards and 2TDs is a given.

You can probably start Brees too as the Broncos pass D looked like a lock to give up around 300+ and a TD or 2

NOT
Carson Palmer is the knight of NOT this week as he faces the Giants who’s D doesn’t look like they miss Osi or Strahan. Palmer has had trouble with weather and defenses and do you think he misses Rudi? Zero running threat and a questionable line has made life difficult for Carson in Bungal-ville
Also NOT

Derek Anderson will suffer one more week while Edwards sits or plays and drops most everything thrown his way. Poor Browns offense may not be up to the Ravens challenge this week but they should get back on track with some practice time. Don’t drop him yet, wait until Brady actually starts and wins.

Bulger needs help, anyone can help but will anyone? Probably not the Hawks this week because they are 0-2 as well so expect Bulger to get beat up a lot.

HOT
If he isn’t hurt Adrian Peterson can go here every week. Instead the HOT start is anyone facing the Lions, so come on down Frank Gore. Gore has been good against decent run defenses so against Detroit SHAZAM! If you got him lucky you, if you play him maybe don’t watch this week because it will be ugly for the Lions. Expect Gore to rack up 150 total and a couple TD’s

Also HOT try MacGahee proving to his new coach HE is their horse in the running game not some trendy committee RB and give Jones-Drew a shot against the Colts without Bob Sanders.

NOT
Don’t start McFadden this week although it would be tempting after last week’s mega-point explosion. The Bills are better than advertised and the Raiders are one dimensional, MacFadden being the dimesion. I think Buffalo’s D is already game planning to let Russel throw to uncovered receivers just to see if he can.

Also no go on Dolphins runners against the Patriots, Brady didn’t play defense and NE is still pretty good there. I might also sit Panther runners not because they are struggling but they will, just like anyone who plays Minnestota run D.

HOT
Marshall plan in effect. Before he gets suspended gain that is. Get his games while he’s HOT and 18 catches is scorching. Look for Brandon to collect 10-135+ and score on the Saints. Scary!

Almost as hot, Boldin and the Redskins D is a good matchup because Warner should have time and the Skins haven’t exactly tackled well. Breaking tackles is Boldin’s specialty, hello end zone. Steve Smith and I don’t care who he plays this week Jake loves him and he has something to prove so the Vikes D will suffer the wrath.

NOT
Cold is something I am not sure Marvin Harrison has ever been but he clearly is not the perennial All-Pro he was. Bench him unless you really are playing in last years league. Sit Ocho Cinco and Who’s-your-mamma until further notice until the Bengals learn to run the ball and pass protect. Torry Holt is there too but Bulger will throw to someone, Holt is everyone.

HOT
Carlson for Seattle. A rookie? Yup, Hasselback has to throw those 300+ to someone and look at this young TE to get 100+ a score and maybe more. Predict Hass’s WR will drop more yards than this guy will catch but he’ll help in their first win.

Cooley is the only guy Campbell seems to find with any sort of regularity so he will catch some balls this week too.

NOT
What happened to Tony Gonzalez? Croyle-Huard-Thigpen? Exactly, bench all Chiefs. Including the formerly reliable Gonzalez. Also bench and maybe drop all together Crumpler because even Collins can’t find the huge TE in Tennessee.

Hope that helps you out this week to decide on who to start and who to sit week 3 in this upside down start to the NFL season. I know I look forward to my game this week against my worthy opponent but I expect with some tough choices I will lead my team to a hard earned victory in week 3.
