Looking for Internet Fantasy Predictions then look no further than our Dave B our fantasy expert weighing in on weekly fantasy football topics for Week 9 action…

Hot and Not – Week 9

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Ahhh Week 9 – half way through the NFL season and some players refuse to cool down while others refuse to heat up! Below is Dave B’s Week 9 version of the Hot and Not list.

Enjoy and keep the comments coming!

Hot

QBs

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers is averaging more than 311 yards per game this season and has tossed 15 touchdowns. Rivers has Houston this week and after seeing what Peyton Manning did to the Texans, Rivers should be in for a huge day!

Matthew Stafford – Detroit Lions – I know that Stafford has only played one game since returning from injury but only a HOT player would shake the rust and toss 4 touchdowns in his first game back. He’s got the Jets this week but after that he plays Buffalo and Dallas.

Jason Campbell – Oakland Raiders – It is hard to believe that the Raiders are considering starting Bruce Gradkowski in Week 9 after what Jason Campbell has accomplished in the last two games. He has the Raiders on their first two game win streak in a hell of a long time and has passed for 514 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions during the streak.

RBs

Darren McFadden – Oakland Raiders – McFadden followed up his 4 touchdown game against Denver with another 100+ yard rushing effort against Seattle’s 2nd ranked run defense. Not only is he running the ball incredibly well, but he is getting his share of yards through the air as well.

Frank Gore – San Francisco 49ers – Gore has been a monster the past three weeks and has a well deserved bye this week. He has gone over 100 yards in each of his past three games and is adding receiving yards to his already impressive totals. St. Louis and Tampa at home follow their bye.

Maurice Jones – Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars – Jones-Drew has finally woken up and has over 100 yards combined in his last two games. The scores aren’t there yet, but the touches and yardage are. He is on a bye this week, then faces Houston’s terrible defense and the Cleveland. Fear not Fantasy owners – MJD appears to be back!

WRs

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – Megatron is a total STUD! In his last four games, he has averaged nearly 97 yards receiving and has scored seven touchdowns. The Jets may give him a slight problem this week but the Bills and the Cowboys are on deck!

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – White enjoyed the bye in Week 8 but he was still HOT even though he didn’t play. In his 7 games this season, White has averaged almost 8 catches per game and 107 yards. Before the bye, White had 11 catches for 201 yards and two touchdowns – worthy of the HOT list even though he didn’t play last week – don’t you think?

Antonio Gates – San Diego Chargers – Gates has only had one game this season in which he didn’t score a touchdown. He is averaging almost 83 yards per contest and has scored nine times. He’s as HOT as they come!

Not

QBs

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Brady hasn’t been terrible but he is surely NOT HOT. He hasn’t tossed for more than one touchdown since Week 3 and in his last two games, he is averaging less that 200 yards passing.

Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings – We should just rename this the Brett Favre column. Favre wasn’t horrible either on Sunday but over his past three games, Favre is averaging 196 yards and has tossed two touchdowns and four interceptions over that span. Chances are that he hurts his back this week – everything else in injured!

Donovan McNabb – Washington Redskins – McNabb had been a colossal disappointment all season long – he hasn’t tossed for more than one touchdown in any game so far! McNabb has averaged 219 yards passing in his last three games, has tossed three touchdowns and five interceptions over that span – NOT HOT!

RBs

Jahvid Best – Detroit Lions – Best hasn’t scored since Week 2 and has gone over 50 yards rushing just once in his past five games. The coaching staff appears to be phasing in Kevin Smith to cut into NOT HOT Best.

Felix Jones – Dallas Cowboys – Ugly is the only word to describe it. Jones has not eclipsed 35 yards rushing in any of his last three games and hasn’t scored all season. Work is that he is banged up too – he’s NOT HOT!

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati Bengals – Cedric Benson – where have you gone? Benson has had two nearly identical disappointing games in a row – 20 touches, 70 yards and no touchdowns. He hasn’t scored since Week 3 and this week faces the Pittsburgh Steelers!

WRs

Randy Moss – Minnesota Vikings/Tennessee Titans – Mr. Moss has been a bust – no denying it and now he goes to a run-first team! In his last three games, Moss has a combined 9 catches, 93 yards and one touchdown – NOT HOT!

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – I miss Randy Moss too Wes! In the last three games Welker has been silent, catching a combined 14 balls for 102 yards and zero touchdowns. Things will get better – I promise you Wes!

Chad Ochocinco – Cincinnati Bengals – Ocho has had one good game since Week 1. Week 7 versus Atlanta, Chad had 10 catches 108 yards and a touchdown. In the other five games since Week 1 Ochocinco has averaged 38 yards per game and has scored zero touchdowns.
