Hot and Not – Week 12
If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.
If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.
The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

So are you looking forward to Week 12? Stupid question I know. There are certainly some scorching players out there – ones that I thought that would never be reliable. They make the HOT list while some recent Duds grace the NOT HOT list.

Hot
QBs
Mark Sanchez – NY Jets – Sanchez is the Hottest QB in the NFL right now and can’t seem to do any wrong. He had his best game as a pro last week and in his last 3 games is averaging 317 yards passing. He has tossed 6 touchdowns and three interceptions over that span.
Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers is simply on fire and another shootout looms this week. In his last two games, Rivers has averaged 264 yards passing and he has thrown 8 touchdowns. He is Fantasy Gold!
Matt Hasselbeck – Seattle Seahawks – Hasselbeck is playing his best football in a very long time. Although he has only thrown two touchdowns in his last two games, he has thrown for 699 yards and has been over a 105 QB rating in both.
RBs
Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars – MJD has rushed for over 100 yards in his last three games – the first time he’s put a streak together like that in his career. He also gained 87 yards through the air last week and 23 the week before. HOT!
Fred Jackson – Buffalo Bills – Jackson has played superb ball since CJ Spiller went down with an injury. In his last two games, he has averaged 124 yards rushing and has scored 3 times. He also has 47 yards receiving in those games.
Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Foster isn’t running for insane yardage totals but he is converting when he gets the chance. In his last three games, Foster has 5 touchdowns. He also has 133 yards receiving in those three.
WRs
Dwayne Bowe – Kansas City Chiefs – Bowe’s numbers have been off the charts! In his last two games, he has averaged 148 yards receiving and he has scored 4 times – HOT!
Mike Wallace – Pittsburgh Steelers – I am going to call him Mr. Wallace from now on. In his last three games, Mr. Wallace has averaged 121 yards per game and he has scored 4 touchdowns. Who needs Hines Ward?
Santonio Holmes – NY Jets – Santonio has been the difference maker that the Jets Brass thought that he would be. In his last three games, Holmes has averaged 105.3 yards per game and has scored 3 touchdowns – 2 in the last game.
Greg Jennings – Green Bay Packers – Before his bye, Jennings caught 7 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. After his bye, he had 152 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns. Jennings is on fire and is certainly worthy of the HOT list.
Not Hot
QBs
Jay Cutler – Chicago Bears – It is mind boggling to me that the Bears are 7-3. Against a banged up Dolphins team, Cutler passed for only 156 yards, zero touchdowns and 1 interception. He’s brutal and certainly NOT HOT.
Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings – I know it may seem like I’m picking on Favre but…I am! In his last two games, Favre has averaged 189 yards passing, has one touchdown and four interceptions. He is the worst QB in the league when it comes to turnovers as well. 
Jason Campbell – Somehow, this guy is holding onto his job! Bruce Gradkowski – start warming up. After a good string of games, Campbell has been bad in his last two outings. He has averaged less than 150 yards passing in those two, has just one touchdown and 2 interceptions.
RBs
Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings – In AP’s last three games, he has failed to gain more than 81 yards. He has been held off the score sheet in his last two. He appears to be just another officer on a sinking ship – NOT HOT!
Jahvid Best – Detroit Lions – Best have been dealing with a boo-boo on his tootsie and now comes word that he may actually miss this week’s game. He hasn’t scored in his last four games and is averaging just 33 yards per game over that span.
Marshawn Lynch – Seattle Seahawks – Welcome to the bench Mr. Lynch!! He has averaged just 30 yards rushing in his last four games and has scored only once over that span. He is as NOT HOT as they come.
Miami RBs – 12 yards rushing combined last week for Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown – embarrassing!
WRs
Percy Harvin – Minnesota Vikings – Harvin had a chance to become a Fantasy Stud but if last week’s game is any indication of what he is capable of, he should remain NOT HOT. He had just 2 catches for 12 yards last week and with Sidney Rice back in the fold and with Brett Favre shot putting the ball, prospects of a turnaround is very slim.
Steve Smith – Carolina Panthers – This one is kind of obvious but worth mentioning because I own him. In his last four games, Smith has 17 catches for 187 yards and zero touchdowns – such a shame!
Randy Moss – Tennessee Titans – Hey Mr. Moss – being overpaid to be a decoy isn’t such a bad this isn’t it? At least you are not getting hit and getting your uniform dirty! 1 catch for 27 yards in two games combined is NOT HOT!
Vernon Davis – San Francisco 49ers – Davis had a 1 catch, 3 yards outing against Tampa in Week 11 and he hasn’t scored in his last three games. Come back Alex Smith, Troy is killing Vernon Davis!
