Eastern Conference supremacy is on the line – it is unusual for the Argos to be in this situation so early in the season.
The Toronto Argonauts will be playing their third straight road game to start the season – a win against Calgary heightened hopes but a loss against Winnipeg dampened them just a little bit. Toronto unfortunately will be reliant on Cleo Lemon this week as All-Star Running Back Corey Boyd will miss his first game due to injury. Lemon only has one touchdown pass in his two games so far and the running game will be left up to Chad Kackert – ugh! [ad-4437448]
Toronto has been good defensively this season but how long they can hold up with a sputtering offense is a true mystery. The Argos are going to have to be superb on Friday – their offense certainly won’t win them the game!
The Montreal Alouettes are who they thought that they were – 2-0 this season on the heels of record setting performances in wins over British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Anthony Calvillo has been THE MAN yet again and now has a share of the All-Time Touchdown passes record (394) with Damon Allen. He is leading the CFL in passing yards (731) and touchdowns (8) so far this season and is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.
Defensively, the Alouettes have been OK but they won’t have to be spectacular against the offensively challenged Toronto Argonauts.
