Both teams have completely underwhelmed so far this season but both are coming off good offensive efforts. Saskatchewan scored 35 points in a loss last week to Calgary and the Argonauts scored 32 points in their loss to Hamilton in Week 7.
Saskatchewan’s offense has been a mystery so far this season. A once potent unit has averaged just 21 points per game in 2011 while the running game ranks last with just 502 yards in their 7 games this year. But there is some optimism for the Riders. Darian Durant finally had a long overdue good outing last week passing for 325 yards and two scores. Running Back Hugh Charles had 154 combined yards and three scores last week as well. [ad-4437448]
Toronto is another team that appears to have turned the corner offensively. Cleo Lemon finally appears to “get it” and was responsible for 368 passing yards and three touchdowns last week. Offensive Player of the Week Brandon Rideau had 147 yards receiving and two touchdowns last week.
Toronto’s defense has been brutal in 2011 and continues to rank last in the CFL with 404.8 yards allowed per game. If they don’t tighten up soon, it won’t matter how well the offense is playing.

The Saskatchewan Rough Riders have won five straight games versus the Argos and seven of their last eight. I think the streak continues. Toronto’s defense simply can’t stop anyone right now and with Durant and Charles playing at a high level, they will be difficult to stop.
