Both teams had lofty expectations going into 2011 and both have failed at every turn.
Needless to say, the pressure is on for both – another loss will almost certainly bury any post season aspirations and could lead to widespread changes only 1/3 of the way through the season.
The Saskatchewan Rough Riders have been losing and losing badly. QB stud Darian Durant has been a colossal disappointment in bringing the once potent Saskatchewan offense to a screeching halt. [ad-4437448]
Although Durant isn’t getting a whole lot of help from his O-line and his running game, the onus is on the CFL All-Star to get things going.
The BC Lions are thon only team that has been more disappointing that the Riders this season. Billed as a contender in the Western Conference, the Lions start this season is eerily reminiscent of last season’s 1-7 start. Offensively, the Lions haven’t been all that bad – Travis Lulay has looked decent and the receiving corp. have been good.
A bigger contribution from Jamel Robertson will be critical going forward – the Lions absolutely have to keep their brutal defense off the field.

Betting Prediction:
Saskatchewan has done very well recently against BC – 4-1 SU in their last five meetings. But BC appears to be the better team at the moment and they are certainly due.
Outside of one brutal effort in Edmonton, BC has at least been competitive in every game.
I like the Lions to get off the schnide this week and at least get some company in the basement of the CFL standings. Parlay with Montreal Alouettes -4.
