The Montreal Alouettes ride into Toronto on Thursday night to kick off Week 6 of what has been an unpredictable CFL season thus far. Montreal is currently on an uncharacteristic two game losing streak while the underwhelming Argonauts are mired in a four game skid.
The Argos will be looking to put an end to their miserable streak while at the same time to avenge a 40-17 loss to the Alouettes earlier this season.
As mentioned, Montreal is riding a two game losing streak and has slipped to unfamiliar territory – out of the penthouse of the Eastern Conference. Stud Quarterback Anthony Calvillo had a bad week in Week 5 and should bounce back in a way that we expect a consummate pro to. He and surprise rushing star Brandon Whitaker will certainly be a lot for the Argos to handle, maybe too much.
Defensively, Montreal has been typically average but against the offensively inept Argonauts, average will be just fine. [ad-4437448]
The Toronto Argonauts are where they should be based on their play in the first five weeks of the season – 1-4 and looking for answers. The story so far has been a lack of offense – surprise! Cleo Lemon sat out last week as did Corey Boyd. There is no word yet on their availability for this week. Dalton Bell may line up under center again this week – ugh!
It’s a good thing for reigning CFL Player of the Week Chad Klackert (20 rushes, 139 yards and 2 tds last week) – he alone may keep the score respectable.
