The Tar Heels are sitting in 4th place in the ACC but I think their tournament prospects are far from guaranteed.
The third-ranked Florida Gators will make the trip out to Lexington on Saturday for a date with the 14th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats as college basketball’s Rivalry Week continues.
The eighth-ranked Duke Blue Devils will make the always daunting trip over to Chapel Hill on Wednesday to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in one of the most anticipated matchups of rivalry week.
The Aztecs have not lost since the second game of the season to Arizona. That means they have rattled off 20 wins in a row and with victories over Creighton, Kansas and other they have certainly earned their lofty standing.
The 15th-ranked Michigan Wolverines will make the trip out to Columbus to take on the 22nd-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on Tuesday.
Prior to losing three of their last 4 games Providence was a very pleasant surprise. They had been holding their own on their homecourt with wins over the like of Creighton, Butler, Xavier and Georgetown and now have a chance to put a nail in the Hoyas coffin if they can handle them on the road too.
The eighth-seeded Kansas Jayhawks will make the trip over to Manhattan to kick off Rivalry Week against the Kansas State Wildcats. The teams met once earlier this season, a game the Jayhawks won handily, 86-60.
The Seton Hall Pirates will make the trip over to The Pavilion on Friday night for a Big East showdown with the sixth-ranked Villanova Wildcats. Seton Hall enters having alternated wins and losses over their last six games, while Villanova has won four in a row and nine of their last 10.
After a tough start to the AAC schedule the Huskies are playing much better lately with wins in 6 of their last 7 games. This is a good team but they have not been very strong on the road this season.
Penn State will aim to pull off another shocking road vistory this season when they take on No. 9 Michigan State in a Big Ten showdown on Thursday night in East Lansing.
SDSU is 10-7 ATS O/U record of 3-13 Boise State is 6-11 ATS with an O/U record of 5-10.
Missouri is 8-9-2 ATS with an O/U record of 6-12 and Missouri is 9-7-1 ATS with an O/U record of 4-12-1.
After starting conference play very strongly Kansas was dominated by Texas over the weekend.
Ohio State arrives in Iowa on Tuesday, trying to put an awful January behind them against the Hawkeyes who beat them back on Jan. 12.
The Cyclones have come back to earth a bit in conference play but if you look closely they have only two losses to Kansas and a loss to a Texas team that just whooped the Jayhawks. [ad-4468020]

ATS Matchup Insight | CP Insider Gambling Preview
Still there are some questions as to whether they can really stand toe to toe with the best teams in what some are calling the best conference in America. Iowa State is very good but they are a very different team away from their cozy Hilton Coliseum.
Even though the competition has stiffened the Cyclones are still scoring tons of points, ranking 7th in the nation. Melvin Ejim, Georges Niang and DeAndre Kane all average more than 16ppg and give the Cyclones a pretty diverse offense even though they lack a traditional post player. Niang has all the right moves around the hoop but since he is only 6’7″ he is far from a dominating physical presence. These guys are just really good at putting the ball through the hoop.
Early on Iowa State was a favourite of bettors but they have lost their last 6 games against the spread and are now just 9-9 ATS. This team has one in tough environments like up at BYU but they are only 2-3 SU and ATS on the road. This should be a good battle as the Cowboys are not blessed with great length either. They are catching them at a good time too.

You could tell early on on Saturday you were not getting a great effort from Oklahoma State. As it turned out they lost in overtime to a super desperate Baylor team and now they get a very good Iowa State team visiting. This team has lost their last two and three of four and seems to be searching for some answers. There is no doubt that there is a lot of talent down in Stillwater but bringing it all together has been a challenge of late.
PG Marcus Smart may be the best player in college basketball but he is forcing it lately. In the loss to Baylor he took 7 three point shots and missed them all. He is not a long range marksman and if he hadn’t made 11 trips to the foul line might have had his worst game as a collegian. They need him to get back to being an efficient all around performer instead of a guy looking to justify being the top pick in the draft. Speaking of efficient it looks like LeBryan Nash may have finally discovered his niche.
Even after their weekend setback against Baylor the Cowboys are still 5-2 ATS at home this season – that was their first SU loss. This is a game where they can exploit some matchups on the perimeter and be able to play the way they want to. Still I worry about their toughness as the Cyclones don’t give away anything.
Spread Pick: Iowa State +6
