The NCAA Selection Committee has done its work. The 65 participants in the 2009 NCAA men’s basketball Tournament have been announced; here’s the rundown of the teams that are going into this year’s bracket and their first-round matchups.

Wilt Chamberlain is our hero. “The Stilt” is responsible for two of the most famous stats in basketball history: 100, and 20,000. We kick off this weekend’s list of 10 stats and factoids with this hoops curiosity: The inventor of basketball, James Naismith, was also the only losing head coach in Kansas Jayhawks history. Naismith finished in 1907 with a record of 55-60.
