This is probably one of the most anticipated matches from the group stages that really stands out as one not to be missed.

Quality is everywhere in these sides, with both Portugal and Brazil being in very good form.

Barring a nine goal win for the Ivory Coast, both sides have qualified to do battle in the Round of 16. This will make the match even more intriguing to see how each club responds.

Either playing with an all out winning effort, or saving players for the knockout rounds.

Portugal made the world take notice on Monday, kicking North Korea out of the cup with a humiliating 7-0 win.

Queiroz made four lineup changes from the team that was held to 0-0 draw by Ivory Coast. Played in a steady downpour, the wet field caused players to lose their footing and make errant passes. It started quickly when Meireles gave Portugal it’s first score of the tournament in the third minute and never looked back.

North Korea had early chances, but seemed to lose hope after Selecao das Quinas’ third goal.

Using the same lineup as the one that impressed in a 2-1 loss to Brazil, they fell apart and failed to block the Portuguese attacks. Sadly, North Korean state television aired live coverage of the game, allowing a whole country to witness the blood bath. The win moves Portugal into second place in Group G with four points, two behind Brazil.

In what was close to being a wrestling match, Brazil beat the Ivory Coast 3-1 Sunday and advanced in Group G. Luis Fabiano scored possibly the biggest goal of his career in the 25th minute, finishing with a pair of goals.

Elano added another after beating two defenders inside the area, then later took a boot to the shin and left the game on a stretcher.

The victory gives Brazil six points from two matches and changes everyone’s outlook on their chances given the recent upswing. Kaka was ejected with two late yellow cards and will be suspended for Brazil’s next match against Portugal.

Dunga will have a big decision to make on who replaces the Real Madrid man, one option may to be play Elano –if he returns– in a more central role, and give a start to Dani Alves.

Roma midfielder Julio Baptista is another who will be pushing for a chance to replace Kaka.

Despite missing Kaka, one has to think Brazil just have the edge, and if they perform as expected they should have enough beat Portugal However, the Brazilian defense looked a bit porous against the Ivory Coast, and with players like Ronaldo, there is always going to be a threat from the Portuguese.
