The Bengals-Steelers game didn’t exactly go as I’d thought it would, but I think a lot of that has to do with underestimating the Bengals rather than overestimating the Steelers. This is still a very complete football team, and even without Troy Polamalu, the fact remains that Big Ben has to come out firing to restore the football betting faith of his handicapping investors. That’s why a game on the road against KC might be a cure-all for whatever ails the Steelers right now.

I really like what KC has managed to put together in the last two weeks, covering against the Jaguars and beating the Raiders as road dogs. Chris Chambers’ arrival has done a lot to restore balance to a passing game that’s been of kilter since Matt Cassel’s arrival and ranks just 27th at home with 247.0 yards per game.
Things were supposed to keep rolling, and the Chiefs were supposed to upset specialists, but the loss of Dwayne Bowe due to illegal substance abuse tagged by a four-game suspension, puts the Chiefs back where they were as an underwhelming offensive threat.
The Steelers will be without their star safety, but the fact is that Kansas simply doesn’t have the type of receivers that strike fear in to your heart. 
Chambers has never been a possession type receiver, and morphing in to one over the week won’t happen. The Steelers still rank 11th in road passing defense with 234.5 yards given per game away from home, and their rush defense will send the stock of Jamal Charles careening back to Earth.

The Steelers have been struggling to cover all season with Polamalu, and have fallen to just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 roadies. Santonio Holmes hasn’t found the endzone since the first week, and Big Ben has been played extremely flat last week. They’ve been on the brink by averaging 23.0 points per game all season, but this is a game, and a defense, that can give up boat loads of points.
Bet the Steelers to rally for a rousing road victory. For some reason, they play very well on the road and while that double-digit spread may strike fear in to your hearts, trust that Big Ben will secure your investment this weekend with a big victory to boost morale in the locker room and keep them in contention behind the surging Bengals.
