Updated Patriots Super Bowl XLIX Lines & 5 Reasons Why They Can Win

Super Bowl XLIX Betting Odds

When I was asked to come up with 5 reasons why the Pats could win the Super Bowl I knew I’d have to start with the guy trying to tie Joe Montana for most Super Bowl wins. Who else would you want to be your quarterback going into the biggest game of the year?

Patriots Super Bowl Odds: PK to -1. -110 on the Moneyline.

Reason 1: Tom Brady

Brady holds the NFL record for most postseason wins with 20 and is trying to add that fourth championship title to his already remarkable resume.

Tom Brady loves to compete in big games and loves to win even more. All of the trash talk from Sherman and the Seahawks will motivate Brady even more to come out and play with intensity.

Despite Tom Brady arguably being on the back end of his career, he is more hungry and passionate than ever before.

Reason 2: DeflateGate

If Bill Belichick and the Patriots needed any more motivation than they already had, they found it.

With the media being more involved in the Super Bowl than ever before questions continue to swirl around the AFC Championship game and the footballs used. The Patriots now have this “us against the world” mentality because everyone thinks they “cheated” last game against the Colts.

The media have continued to blow up this incident and the bigger and bigger it gets, the more motivated the Patriots become.

Reason 3: Rob Gronkowski

The New England tight end could be the most dynamic player in all of football and is without a doubt the best player at his position in this game.

With his ability to out-muscle defensive backs and speed past linebackers it makes him almost impossible to cover.

Gronkowski will be lined in a number of different spots on Sunday. He can lineup in the slot, backfield, or even out wide. Gronk is Brady’s number one target and with the chemistry they have built up over the years makes the combination even more dangerous.

Reason 4: Bill Belichick

Belichick is arguably the best coach in the league and a football junkie. He almost loves football as much as he loves winning. Everyone should expect the Belichick to devise a number of plays on offense to confuse the Seahawk defense.

This postseason the Patriots have used lineman to catch touchdown passes.

Both times they have scored they have been wide open because the defense did not know they were eligible receivers.

Coach Belichick did this by putting running back Shane Vereen on the line and making him the fifth lineman, who is an ineligible receiver.

Everyone can expect Belichick to have a huge impact on the game and will be a major reason why they win the game.

Reason 5: LeGarrette Blount

Since coming back to New England in the middle of the season, Blount has had a huge impact on the team. Blount is the perfect running back to take down the Seattle defense because of his size and strength.

The huge 250 pound back can punish the defense, especially the secondary.

With injuries to Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, Blount can be more effective than ever.

Thomas and Sherman say that they will be able to play on Sunday, but form tackling could be a problem for them. The Patriots had struggled this year in the red-zone until Blount joined the team again.

Blount may not gain a ton of yards in this game, but look for him to have important runs in key situations in the game.
