Bringing in Kyle Orton and trading up in the draft to acquire Sammy Watkins was an obvious signal from management that they feel the team is just a piece or two away from making it to the playoffs.

While Orton made an early exit, the team went out and acquired another big piece, bringing in LeSean McCoy from the Philadelphia Eagles to spearhead the team’s rushing attack.

However, McCoy now comes into an offensive system and offensive line that aren’t near the level of what he enjoyed in the City of Brotherly Love.

The quarterback situation is also extremely unsettled with Orton gone, as Matt Cassell, EJ Manuel, and Tyrod Taylor will all have to compete for the job.

Whoever does get the job will have a decent stable of wide receivers to work with, including Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, and another new acquisition in Percy Harvin – though Rex Ryan was never able to get anything going with Harvin in New York.

There’s a lot of talent at the skill positions in Buffalo, but the fact remains that the offensive line isn’t where it needs to be, and the quarterback situation figures to be a major question mark all year long.

As for the defense, Kiko Alonso was shipped to Philadelphia in the McCoy deal, but the unit excelled without him last season anyways.

The defensive line is the key to the unit, with Mario Williams, Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams, and Jarred Hughes forming one of the top defensive fronts in football.

The schedule has some tough spots for the Bills, who will play five road games in a six-week stretch during Weeks 10 to 15, but they’ll also play four of their first six and each of their last two regular season games at home.

2015 Buffalo Bills Season Win Betting Prediction

Bet on Under 8.5 wins -105

A lot went right for the Bills in 2014 to help the team to nine wins. While Rex Ryan brings some real cache to the coaching gig, defense wasn’t the problem.

In fact, a shift from a 4-3 to a 3-4 system could do more harm than good, given the proficiency of the team’s four-man front.

As good as the team may be in other areas, the quarterback situation wasn’t addressed in the offseason, and figures to again hold the team back in 2015.
