NFC East Game Previews – Washington Redskins vs New York Giants
The Washington Redskins will look to throw a wrench into the New York Giants division title plans this Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium in this NFC East clash.

Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast on FOX.
Washington finds itself in the midst of another lost season with an overall record of 4-9 straight-up (6-7 against the spread) but do not expect this team to rollover in this game as it has continued to play teams extremely tough down the stretch. Last week, the Redskins were one play away from knocking-off New England in a 34-27 loss as 7.5-point home underdogs. The total went ‘over’ the 46.5-point line and is now 6-7 on the year.
If they are going to have any chance to pull-off the upset on the road, the Redskins will need a huge effort from Rex Grossman, who has struggled with consistency all season long. He threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns last Sunday, but completed less than 60 percent of his passes.
New York’s huge 37-34 come-from-behind victory over Dallas last Sunday night as a 4.5-point road underdog raised its record over .500 to 7-6 SU (6-6-1 ATS) and put it in the driver seat to win the division title. The total went well ‘over’ the 50.5-point line against the Cowboys and has gone ‘over’ in eight of its 13 games this year. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Much like Washington, the Giants’ chances in this game revolve around their quarterback, Eli Manning. Shaking-off a number of slow starts, Manning has made a living this season of dramatic comebacks but would obviously prefer to put this one away early.
The Redskins are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against the NFC East and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of their last seven games on the road.
The Giants are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games at home. The total has gone ’over’ in 11 of their last 16 games against the NFC East.
Head-to-head in this series, the favorite is 9-4-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings and the home team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five. Even with a 28-14 win over New York on opening day as a 2.5-point home favorite, Washington is 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 games overall and 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven games played on the road. The Giants are on their game from the start this week and cruise to an easier than expected victory.
