NFC East Game Previews – Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys
The Miami Dolphins bring a three-game winning streak into Cowboy Stadium for a Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, who have strung together three victories of their own. Game time is set for 4:15 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

Miami has been able to turn things around after a disastrous 0-7 start, but at 3-7 straight-up (4-5-1 against the spread) it is already relegated to playing the role of spoiler over the final six weeks of the regular season. Last week, the Dolphins clobbered Buffalo 35-8 as three-point home favorites. The total ended as a ‘push’ on a closing line of 43, but it has stayed ‘under’ in eight of their previous nine games.
While it is still a case of too-little, too-late for Miami, it has outscored its opponents 86-20 in its last three games and could present more than just a minor challenge for the Cowboys this week.
Dallas has also won its last three games after escaping with a 27-24 overtime win over Washington last Sunday as a seven-point road favorite. The Cowboys are now 6-4 SU (4-5-1 ATS) on the year and tied with New York for the lead in the NFC East. The total has gone an even 5-5 in their 10 games this year. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Tony Romo has the Dallas offense back in gear with the help of rookie DeMarco Murray and a new-found running game. Murray has already rushed for 747 yards on just 125 carries and overall, the Cowboys are averaging 121.8 yards a game on the ground.
The Dolphins are 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 games on the road and are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games as road underdogs. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 20 of their last 26 road games.
The Cowboys are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as home favorites and the total has gone ‘over’ in nine of their last 12 games as favorites at home.
These two last met in 2007 with Dallas cruising to a 37-20 victory as a 3.5-point road favorite. While the Cowboys should get the win at home in front of the Thanksgiving Day crowd, stick with Miami to make things interesting right until the end.
