It is anybody’s guess how this thing will turn out.

Team Irvin

This year the format was a “fantasy draft” by each of the captains.

On Team Irvin I guess it should be no surprise that we picked Cowboy QB Tony Romo as his starter. In fact he also took three members of Dallas’ very good offensive line plus running back DeMarco Murray.

I know that has the foul smell of nepotism or favoritism but all these guys earned their way into the game, it was just a matter of what squad they would be on.

The question is whether all that familiarity will be an advantage on the field.

On defense Team Irvin had no choice but to look outside of Dallas for players. The thing that stands out to me most is the volume of pass rushers they have including Cameron Wake, Robert Quinn, Von Miller and Clay Matthews.

Also, kudos to Aaron Donald for making the roster and being so highly thought of in just his first season at defensive tackle. This defense was made to defend the pass.

Team Carter

Chris Carter did not really have the opportunity to play favourites though I doubt it was a coincidence that the Pouncey brothers wound up on the same team.

On offense you have love having Andrew Luck as your guy, especially in a game like this where guys are going to just play and there might not be as much structure.

Though, technically listed as second string I expect he will ook in the direction of T.Y. Hilton a fair bit.

It is hard to believe that Jordy Nelson is second string too after the season he just had.

The Team Carter defense is huge up front with J.J. Watt and Mario Williams tackle sized ends that can create havoc.

I am sure I am slighting someone when I write this but they don’t have the kind of speed rushers that should be able to get off in a game like this.

That is going to put pressure on their cover guys. I feel confident that Patrick Peterson will intercept at least one pass and probably take it to the house.

Determining which side wins will be interesting so I saw go with the over. That has been the trend of late.
