2011 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 11 PHILADELPHIA With defensive stalwarts like LBs Chris Chamberlain, David Vobora and S Craig Dahl, how could the Rams not win this home opener? Uhh, I swear the rest of this preview won’t be so sarcastic.

Mon, Sept. 19 @ New York Giants Who knows what you’re getting from RB Brandon Jacobs from season to season, and one thing St. Lou improved markedly on last season was stuffing the run… could the Rams pull the upset in the Big Apple on MNF?

Sun, Sept. 25 BALTIMORE St. Lou’s three games to open the season are daunting indeed. The Ravens are a tough customer every week, and this is a good chance for young franchise QB Sam Bradford to prove the sky really is the limit for him.

Sun, Oct. 2 WASHINGTON This home game may feel like a Swedish massage compared to the Rams’ first three clashes.

Sun, Oct. 9 BYE

Sun, Oct. 16 @ Green Bay Good thing the Blue and Gold have the bye week to rest up and strategize how to best the reigning Super Bowl champs – on their turf, no less.

Sun, Oct. 23 @ Dallas Head coach Steve Spagnuolo is starting to accomplish things with the defensive unit, which is important with the Cowboys rolling into town.

Sun, Oct. 30 NEW ORLEANS St. Louis’s gauntlet early schedule continues with N’awlins’ Drew Brees and Co. The Rams will have been tested with high-powered attacks with Green Bay and Dallas; they sure can’t rest on their laurels here – but maybe on their Laurinaitis.

Sun, Nov. 6 @ Arizona At the very least, a showdown versus the Cardinals represents an eminently winnable divisional game.

Sun, Nov. 13 @ Cleveland The Browns aren’t perfect, but they also aren’t pushovers like they have been in past seasons. The Rams better take their Tough Guy Medicine for this one.

Sun, Nov. 20 SEATTLE Pete Carroll’s crew also finished 7-9 last season, atop the division with the Rams (ewww). But Seattle is more like an incumbent than a favorite.

Sun, Nov. 27 ARIZONA Two games against the middling Cards in the same month. Mmm, mmm good.

Sun, Dec. 4 @ San Francisco Are the Niners ever going to live up to what people predict in the pre-season? St. Louis sure hopes not.

Mon, Dec. 12 @ Seattle Lo and behold, an NFC West Monday nighter! The scheduling gods were right about two things though: the Seahawks home atmosphere is rockin’ and this game should have divisional implications.

Sun, Dec. 18 CINCINNATI Dear Mr Bradford: Do the NFC West a favor and win this game. Please.

Sat, Dec. 24 @ Pittsburgh Winding down the season, this road game isn’t even close to a picnic. The Rams second straight game versus the AFC North shouldn’t be as fun as the first.

Sun, Jan. 1 SAN FRANCISCO Perhaps the Edward Jones Dome will be bumping for this match-up, with a division crown on the line?
