The home team Indiana Hoosiers are riding high after a victory against ranked Missouri last week, and they’ll look to defeat the Terps in a conference game, now Maryland has made the relocation to the Big Ten.

Indiana (2-1) has been a strong representative for the Big Ten, if for no other reason than its commitment to the ground game.

Hoosiers RB Tevin Coleman, a junior that’s put up 569 rushing yards and six TDs through only three games and only 66 carries (an amazing 8.6 yards per carry) leads the charge. Senior D’Angelo Roberts also pulls his weight, with 214 yards and three majors.

The 31-27 win over Mizzou must have done wonders for Indiana’s confidence. The Hoosiers believe they will get a yield on the ground against an only average Maryland defense.

The Terps have been nothing to sneeze at, either. They sit at 3-1 in their first season in Big Ten and have lost only to QB Clint Trickett and West Virginia.

Maryland’s best weapon is junior WR Stefon Diggs, so Indiana must ensure they get him covered. The Terps are dealing with a blow after the news that they’ve lost DE Quinton Jefferson for the season with a knee injury. Jefferson is an impact defender.

If Indiana is to secure a home victory, its defense will have to come to play. In the past two weeks, the “D” has surrendered 45 points to Bowling Green and 31 to Missouri.

That has to change when the Hoosiers arrive in the teeth of their Big Ten schedule.

In addition to Diggs, the Hoosiers must be wary of Terps starting QB C.J. Brown, a senior who’s registered 833 passing yards and leads the team in rushing.

Brown and Diggs comprise Maryland’s most dynamic scoring threat.

If the Hoosiers can keep Brown in check and prevent the speedy Diggs from putting six points on the scoreboard in an instant, you have to like the chances of Indiana winning in Bloomington.
