Sacramento Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs Preview

The Spurs (52-12) have the best record in the league and the best home record in the league, but the Kings (15-47) don’t have much of a chance, but their bettors do since San Antonio has not been a good ATS team in the last couple of weeks. NBA lines have the Spurs as big 11.5-point favorites in this game with a total of 208.

In their last games both teams played on Wednesday with the Spurs beating the Detroit Pistons 111-104 while the Kings lost to the Orlando Magic 106-102.

San Antonio has not only been a better team overall, but they are also a much better betting team on the season going 36-26-2 ATS while the Kings are only 26-35-1 ATS. The Kings are only 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in San Antonio.

The Kings have lost 10 straight games to the Spurs, have lost 4 in a row ,and they are 2-8 in their last 10 games. NBA Betting

When these teams met in the beginning of February the Spurs won 113-100 and San Antonio shot lights out shooting 57.1% from the floor. The Kings rank 23rd in the league in opponents’ points per game and if they do not play good D they will get killed again since they only rank 20th in scoring.

Kings’ 2nd leading scorer Tyreke Evans (18.3 ppg) is still out with a foot injury and the Kings will need good scoring games from Marcus Thornton (20.6 ppg), rookie DeMarcus Cousins (14.3 ppg), and Beno Udrih (13.8 ppg). Cousins also has to play good D on Spurs PF Tim Duncan (13.3 ppg) and not let him dominate the paint.

Spurs’ leading scorer Manu Ginobili (17.8 ppg) has been playing well and PG Tony Parker (17.1 ppg) has really been a thorn in the sides of the Kings in the past few seasons He has averaged over 23 ppg and 8.5 assists per game in his last 6 games against the Kings. The perimeter defense of the Kings cannot allow Parker to get in the lane and score or give him open looks from deep.

The Kings will not win this game, but they will play well and will cover the 11.5-point spread.

Betting Trends

Sacramento is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and San Antonio is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Pick: Kings +11.5
