Two teams with varying degrees of post-season aspirations meet in south Florida as the Southeast Division champion Miami Heat play host to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Heat enter play as the second seed in the Eastern Conference, and are looking to overtake Chicago for the top spot. The Bucks are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. With one spot left in the East, Milwaukee has not been mathematically eliminated but the Bucks need to run the table and get some help to order to make the playoffs.

Miami has several players trying to get healthy for the playoffs. The biggest name of all working through health issues is Dwayne Wade. Third in the league but second on the Heat in scoring, Wade is listed as day-to-day with a bruised right thigh. Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem, and Mike Miller are all trying to recover from various injuries.

Miami is looking to complete a four-game regular season sweep of the Bucks. Last season, the Bucks took three of four from the Heat. When the Heat score more than 100 points in a game, the Heat have won 21 consecutive times. When LeBron James (team leader in scoring), Chris Bosh, and Wade all shoot at least 50 percent from the field, the Heat are 17-0. When the Heat hold an opponent to under 40 percent from the floor, the Heat are 15-3.

The Bucks are more built as a team with more anonymity as opposed to Miami. The Bucks bench has outscored the bench of their opponents 101-81 over the last three games, with Milwaukee winning two of those. Carlos Delfino and Brandon Jennings have a chance to become the first teammates in franchise history with over 100 three-point field goals each.

Drew Gooden leads the club in rebounding in each of the last three games after returning from injury. He has paired with Andrew Bogut to combine for 46.4% of the Bucks boards over the last four contests. Bogut needs 58 defensive rebounds to pass Glenn Robinson for most all-time in franchise history, and 66 overall to overtake Terry Cummings for fourth all-time with the Bucks.

Recent Trends:
Under is 9-4 in MIL last 13 road games.
Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Heat – Milwaukee has been awful on the road this season with an 11-26 mark away from the Bradley Center. Meanwhile, Miami is 28-10 in games at home. The Heat are getting hot at the right time. They’ve won three in a row and eight of their last nine.
