NBA Basketball Picks: Handicapping Angles – Weekly Free Parlay

NBA Weekly Free Parlay Picks

I nailed last Tuesday’s parlay with plays on Cleveland and Oklahoma City and to keep things rolling I have turned my attention to two more games on this Tuesday’s NBA slate. The following is a brief breakdown of both of these matchups with picks based on NBA betting odds by BetOnline.

Game 1: Washington Wizards at Chicago Bulls

Pointspread: Chicago -5
Total Line: 194.5
Matchup | Preview

It has been a rough go of it for Washington lately with just three straight-up victories in its last 10 games while going a costly 0-6 against the spread in its last six outings.

The Wizards managed to get past Detroit this past Saturday in a 99-95 victory, but they could not cover as 4.5-point home favorites.

The game before they got pasted by Philadelphia in an 89-81 loss as 7.5-point favorites on the road. Washington has missed the presence of Bradley Beal in the lineup, but he did return to action against the Pistons.

Chicago continues to press on with the loss of Derrick Rose for the foreseeable future with losses in two of its last three games both SU and ATS. The Bulls dropped a 96-86 decision to the Los Angeles Clippers this past Sunday as two-point home underdogs.

They are now just 12-19 ATS at home this season.

Another injury concern for Tuesday night is Jimmy Butler’s elbow, which was hyper-extended in that loss to the Clippers.

This matchup will come down to which team wants it more among two ball clubs that are in desperate need of a win.

Look for defense to dictate the pace of play in a game that stays UNDER the closing total line.

Game 2: Utah Jazz at Memphis Grizzlies

Pointspread: Memphis -8.5
Total Line: 182.5
Matchup | Preview

Utah is on the outside looking in as far as the Western Conference playoffs at 23-35 SU on the year, but it has been making some noise lately with a SU 6-2 record in its last eight games while going a highly profitable 7-1 ATS. The Jazz beat Milwaukee this past Saturday 82-75 as 3.5-point home favorites.

This followed a 104-82 road win over Denver as 4.5-point favorites the night before. Utah is just 10-19 SU on the road this season, but this record improves dramatically ATS to 17-11-1.

The Grizzlies are in a heated battle for the top spot in the West at 42-16 SU on the year, while going an even 28-28-2 ATS. They snapped a two-game skid (SU and ATS) with Saturday’s 101-97 victory against Minnesota, but after failing to cover as 5.5-point road favorites, they are just 3-6 ATS in their last nine games.

On the year, Memphis has been one of the better home teams in the league at 23-6 SU, but it has failed to cover in 15 of those 29 games.

The Grizzlies have a huge showdown against Houston on the slate this Wednesday night which puts Utah in great position to catch them looking past Tuesday night’s game. I do not see the Jazz getting the SU win, but I really like their chances to cover with the 8.5 points.
