Joe Johnson is a big-time scorer, although he can hide away sometimes in big games. Marvin Williams has a long-term contract and should start at power forward for years.
Veteran Joe Smith gives them decent minutes on the front line, and Al Horford works hard but is really a forward masquerading as a center.
Jamal Crawford averaged 19 points for the Warriors last season, but at Golden State even the assistant trainer gets to shoot. Crawford will be in the rotation, though, and take some of the scoring heat off Johnson.
Surprising stat: The Hawks lost four straight playoff games to Cleveland, by an average of 18 points.
Strengths: The Hawks protect the home court as well as can be expected – they went 31-10 in Atlanta last season.
Weaknesses: Every once in a while they decide that getting on SportsCenter’s Top 10 is more important than winning.
Playoffs? They haven’t completely separated themselves from the pack yet, but right now things are looking good.
