Kevin Harvick became the first two-time Sprint Cup winner this season by taking the checkered flag at Darlington two weeks ago.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. remained hot with a second-place finish in that race and Jimmie Johnson took third.

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Saturday night’s race based on odds provided by Bovada.

The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)

It looks like Bovada wants to ride the hot hand despite the week off by listing Kevin Harvick as a 6/1 favorite to win a second-straight night race. He has vaulted to the top of the list for qualifying for the Chase with the two previous victories; however the No. 4 team is currently all the way back in 22nd place as far as points with 186 total points.

The real value in these odds is Harvick’s recent performance at Richmond. He comes in as the defending champion after winning last year’s event and he has won three times at this track since 2006.

The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)

Looking down the list of contenders for this week’s race, I decided to go with the hungriest driver with the longest odds.

Johnson is still looking for his first win of the season as a 7/1 third favorite, but the better value on the board is with Matt Kenseth’s 12/1 odds to make his first trip to victory lane this Saturday night.

He has raced the No. 20 car into second place in the current standings with 296 total points after finishing in the top 10 in six of the first eight Sprint Cup point events.

While Kenseth only has one career Sprint Cup victory at Richmond coming all the way back in the 2002 season, he has placed seventh or better in his last three trips around this track.

The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)

When it comes to NASCAR racing, the longer the odds the harder the call as this is a sport that is usually dominated by the favorites. We have already witnessed a few stunning upsets this season with drivers such as Carl Edwards and Joey Logano claiming an early win, but I am going with Kurt Busch at 20/1 as another unlikely winner this season that could be poised to head down Victory Lane this Saturday night.

The No. 41 car has a top-five finish at Fontana to go along with a win at Martinsville on this year’s resume.

Busch’s recent performance at Richmond includes a ninth-place finish in last year’s race followed by a second-place finish in the fall race at this track to add even more value to these odds.
