Pitchers Report for Thursday September 3rd
A look at the hot and cold pitchers going today. The information you need to know whether it is for fantasy baseball or wagering contests.
The information you need to know whether it is for fantasy baseball or wagering contests. What a night last night as my POD’s just keep winning! I’m now 16-2 in my last 18 and 94-42 on the year! I have made a killing playing my PODs!
Thursday’s sheet is limited with just three hot starters with ERAs under 3.00 in their last 5 starts and only three cold starters with ERA’s over 6.00 in their last 5. Make sure you read below so you know what to do here on Thursday for your sports betting advice.
Probable Hot Starting Pitchers:
Tim Lincecum (Giants)
I know way to go out on a limb here on Thursday and give you Tim Lincecum as the hottest start, but we are really limited here today.
Lincecum has pitched well all year and looks to be on his way to his consecutive Cy Young award. He will go up against the Phillies and Pedro Martinez on Thursday. Though the Phillies have won every start made by Pedro he has not gone deep into games and has not looked great.
Lincecum who has a 2.90 ERA also carries a 2.03 ERA during night starts with an incredible 11-1 record. The Phillies collectively are hitting .206 off Lincecum and in his one start vs. the Phillies this year he shut them out for 8 innings while giving up just seven hits. Tim Lincecum will be on 5 days rest tomorrow as his start got pushed back with Penny on the mound tonight who pitched great. The Giants are also 4-1 in their last 5 vs. RH starters and the Phillies on the other hand have averaged 2.48 runs per 9 innings overall in their last 5 games. I think the Giants will continue to win here.
You will get excellent value in terms of the sports betting line with the Giants favored at -124 at the moment.
Notables – Last 5 Starts!
* Brett Tomko (2-0, 1.05 WHIP, 2.25 ERA) * Tommy Hanson (4-1, 1.08 WHIP, 2.93 ERA)
Most likely to sustain and win:
Probable Cold Starting Pitchers:
Billy Buckner (Diamondbacks)
Oh Billy Buckner, he has struggled big time as of late and has a 9.62 ERA in his last 5 starts with a 1-4 record for the Dbacks. I’m not sure if this is interesting as much as the start from the opposing hurler will be. John Garland who spent the entire season with the Diamondbacks was traded during Game 1 of this series. It was an awkward site to see him leave the dugout and go over to the other side mid game, but that is what happened.
Now Garland who in my opinion totally has the advantage in this match up against his former team will be going up against Buckner who just can’t find it as of late. I’m going to watch this game for sure as it will be a late start and for the fact that I want to see how Garland pitches. Garland was a huge pick up for the Dodgers and brings them some veteran presence in their starting rotation.
Notables – Last 5 Starts!
* Manny Parra (3-2, 2.20 WHIP, 7.86 ERA) * Ricky Nolasco (2-1, 1.34 WHIP, 6.52 ERA)
Most likely to rebound:
