The Philadelphia Phillies travel to Citi Field in New York for a three game NL East division weekend series with the Mets. Game 1 is scheduled for tonight starting at 7:10 p.m.

After taking two out of three from the Dodgers including a dramatic 10-9 come from behind win last night, Philadelphia has won eight out of its last 10 games and is now 64-50, just two games behind Atlanta in the NL East. The Phillies are 26-30 straight up on the road and 47-35 against the spread as the favorite. They are 55-56-2 against the ‘over/under` line with the total staying ‘under` in 15 of their last 21 games against the Mets.

On the mound tonight for Philadelphia will be left hander Cole Hamels. In 23 starts this season he is 7-8 with a 3.45 ERA. In his last start, which happened to be against the Mets, he pitched seven strong innings, giving up six hits and one earned run, but got tagged with a loss. Lifetime against New York, Hamels is 2-6 with an ERA of 3.71.

Chase Utley and Ryan Howard are still on the DL but the Phillies continue to find ways to score runs. They have a team batting average of .262, fourth best in the NL and have scored 545 runs, third best in the league.

New York lost two out of three to the Phillies last weekend in Philadelphia, but it was able to take two out of three from the Rockies this week. The Mets are 57-57 overall, nine games out of first in the NL East. They are 35-20 SU at home and are 28-36 ATS as an underdog. Against the ‘over/under` line they are 51-58-4.

Right hander R.A. Dickey gets the start tonight for New York. This season he is 7-5 with an ERA of 2.65 in 16 starts. In his last outing , which happened to be against the Phillies, he only lasted three innings, giving up eight hits and four earned runs. Dickey is 1-1 with a 4.0 ERA in his career against Philadelphia.

The Mets offensive production continues to struggle as they have fallen to 14th in the NL in hitting with a .250 team batting average. Their 475 runs scored rank them 13th. David Wright leads the team with 120 hits, 77 RBI, and 17 home runs.

Philadelphia is 15-7 SU in its last 22 games against the Mets, but 0-3 in the last three games in New York. The Phils lit Dickey up the last time they faced him but that was in Philadelphia. He will be able to keep this one close, but the Phillies once again find a way to win in a low scoring game.
