NFL Week 6 Match Ups

In the NFC the game of the week is the 5-0 N.Y. Giants @ 5-0 New Orleans Saints, while over in the AFC the Broncos try and make it six in a row when they visit San Diego on Monday night. If Denver finds a way to win, it would give them a 3 ½ game lead in the AFC West.

Here is a brief look at all the match ups with some keys to the game.

Sunday, Oct. 18

(Byes: Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami, San Francisco)

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals 1 p.m.

The Texans have a good chance to win this game if they can keep the turnover ratio positive. You have to wonder how many more last second wins the Bengals can pull off.

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m.

With Lion’s QB Mathew Stafford still recovering from a knee injury, Dante Culpepper might give Detroit their best chance to win as he has played very well against the Packers in the past five games as a starter.

St. Louis Rams at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.

St. Louis gets QB Marc Bulger back this week from injury to try and invigorate an offense that is ranked dead last in points per game.

Baltimore Colts at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m.

Baltimore needs to eliminate the costly mistakes and penalties that contributed to two straight losses if they are going to have a chance against the 5-0 Vikings.

New York Giants at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m.

The will be a big test for Eli Manning as he has been playing behind big leads all season long. The Saints rushing offense is ranked #2, while their passing offense is ranked 11th.

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m.

The Browns have lost 11 straight games to the Steelers. Pittsburgh gets SS Troy Polamalu back in the lineup, but loose veteran DE Aaron Smith for the season.

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m.

Tampa is ranked 29th in points scored and 30th in points allowed. Panther QB Jake Delhomme played well enough to win last week, but is still nowhere near last season’s form.

Kansas City Chiefs at Washington Redskins, 1 p.m.

The Chiefs have a chance to be the third winless team to get their first victory of the year against Washington. The Redskins banged up offensive line will not help their cause to prevent this from happening.

Philadelphia Eagles at Oakland Raiders, 4:05 p.m.

The Eagles offense ranks 2nd in points scored and they are going against a Raiders defense that is ranked 31st overall. This one could get out of hand early.

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks, 4:05 p.m.

The Cardinals have won four out of the last five games including a sweep last season, but the Seahawks are a much better team this year especially with QB Matt Hasselbeck back in the lineup.

Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots, 4:15 p.m.

Tom Brady has struggled at times this season, but should still play well enough to win this game. Look for Titan QB Vince Young to get back in the lineup this week.

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets, 4:15 p.m.

Rex Ryan should have his defense ready this week against a Bills offense that is ranked 25th overall and 26th in points per game.

Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons, 8:20 p.m.

This game comes down to a couple of young guns, Jay Cutler for the Bears and Matt Ryan for the Falcons. Neither QB will be afraid to test the other team’s secondary.

Monday, Oct. 19

Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers, 8:30 p.m.

It is only week six and this is already a must win game for San Diego. The Chargers have won five of the last six games against the Broncos.

From a betting perspective half the games have a spread of four points or less. Looking at these close match ups it could be a good week to lean your bets toward the home team.
