Week 16 DFS Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings – Fan Duel
Championship Week looms in the world of Fantasy Football folks – time to talk about which Running Backs will carry you to the Title this week. By the way I’d like to personally thank Adrian Peterson and Chris Ivory for ensuring my demise last week. But I’m going back to the well with one of those guys in my top 5 RB plays for Week 16.
So which Running Backs will carry you to the promise land? Let’s take a look at the top 5 Running Back plays for Week 16 of the NFL season.
1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings
I admit I am a little bitter that Peterson got hurt last week and Jerrick McKinnon stole the show for Minnesota. But Peterson, as the best Back in the league has to be #1 on Championship Week. He faces a Giants team that gives up a lot of yards on the ground and will be playing without Odell Beckham. The Vikes will be looking to control the clock and keep Peterson (who is saying he’s healthy) very busy. I am expecting 100 yards rushing with the potential for a whole lot more with a TD to go along with 2-3 catches for another 25 or so yards. Peterson has a chance to explode this week and is my easy #1.
2.David Johnson, Cardinals
How about David Johnson? He rushed 29 times for 187 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday night’s Week 15 win over the Eagles, adding four catches for 42 yards. Johnson is the unquestioned lead back in an elite offense. He has yet to gain less than 120 combined yards in the three games he’s started and should easily top that again this week with the amount of work he is certain to get. Fire him up with utmost confidence this week against the Packers and expect 100 yards and a TD, maybe 2 on the ground to go along with 4-6 catches for another 40-60 yards.
3.Doug Martin, Buccaneers
Doug Martin has obviously separated himself from the other backs on the roster and should get the bulk of the work against the Bears at home this week. Somehow Martin is second in the league in rushing behind Adrian Peterson and has gone five straight games with at least 80 yards on the ground. Martin is running with a new purpose and should be good for 100 yards on the ground and a TD to go along with his customary 1 catch for 10-15 yards. The Bears are serving it up and Martin is consuming!
4.DeAngelo Williams, Steelers
Can you name another one of the Steelers Running Backs? Me neither. Simply put Williams is the man in Pittsburgh – he should feast against a bad Baltimore defense this week. He has scored 6 TDs in the last six weeks and should be able to add to that total this week. Williams should get his share of work this week as Pittsburgh controls the game from the outset. I’m starting all Steelers this week – Williams will get you 100+ yards on the ground with a TD and 2-4 catches for another 25 or so yards – as reliable as they come right now.
5. Charcandrick West, Chiefs
Spencer Ware is still banged up for the Chiefs leaving Charcandrick West to handle the bulk of the work for the Chiefs in their game with a pretty bad Cleveland run defense that gave it up last week to a bunch of no-names in Seattle. KC should control this game at home this week allowing the running game to dominate the stat-sheet. Expect close to 100 yards for West this week with a TD to go along with 2-4 catches for 25-40 yards,
