Championship week is here! Let’s hope that you have a top notch QB in place for the final week of your Fantasy playoffs. The players on the list this QB list this week are absolute can’t misses – to have any one of them should be enough to carry you to the promise land. All top five QB plays of Week 16 have terrific matchups.
So who are they? Let’s take a look at the top 5 QB plays for Week 16 of the NFL season.
1. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers
The Steelers made the best pass defense in the game (by a mile) look average last week in Denver. I don’t know if there is a team out there to stop the Steelers from scoring a ton. Big Ben and Antonio Brown get one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL this week – the Ravens are going to be punished. Ben should add to his seven 300+ yard games and four-3 TD games – easily and is the #1 QB option this week.
2. Cam Newton, Panthers
How good has Cam Newton been? Absolute money in the bank for your Fantasy team. He has gone for over 330 yards and has tossed 5 TDs in two of his last three games overall – incredible. The lone “average” performance over that span was two weeks ago when these teams met. Newton played three quarters and went for 265 yards and 3 TDs in that win. Assuming he plays the whole game here Newton is a lock for a good game – 275 yards and 3 TDs through the air and 25-40 yards on the ground with another TD.
3. Russell Wilson, Seahawks
Wilson is shockingly the third hottest QB in the game right now but make no mistake about it – he is on fire. He has thrown an astounding 20 TDs the last four weeks and has ZERO turnovers over that span. Wilson and the Hawks get a crumbling St. Louis defense this week – the same one that held Wilson to 251 yards in the first meeting between the teams and sacked him six times. But the Hawks are a different team now and the Rams are too! At home expect Russell to continue his strong play – 250 yards and 3TDs and another 50 yards on the ground is what I see for Wilson this week.
4. Carson Palmer, Cardinals
It’s pretty hard to go wrong with Palmer in what is sure to be a shootout with Green Bay. I mean the running game simply WON’T account for as much production as they saw in Week 15 – expect Palmer and his receivers to get some of those TDs this week. He has gone over 300 yards in all but one home game this year – expect that trend to continue this week. 300 yards and 3 TDs for Palmer in Championship Week.
5. Blake Bortles, Jaguars
Bortles, outside of one average last week has been very good and he has a juicy matchup in Week 16 against a New Orleans defense that gave it up to Matthew Stafford on Monday night. He has gone over 290 yards passing in eight games this year and has 31 passing TDs thus far. On the road Bortles been money as well – he threw for 5 TDs the last time the Jags played away from home. Against a burnable Saints defense look for Bortles to have a field day – 325 yards and 3 TDs seems about right!
