Week 16 DFS Fantasy Football Defense Rankings – Fan Duel
If you are in your Fantasy Championship this week – congratulations! Hopefully you have a top D/ST you can ride to the Championship. There are some scorching units out there for you to exploit this week – not much of surprise with any of them.
So which D/ST units can we trust as we head into the final week of the Fantasy Football season? Let’s take a peek at the top 5 D/ST plays for Week 16 of the NFL season.
The Seahawks at home are scary indeed! Add in the fact that their opponent St. Louis hasn’t exactly been an offensive juggernaut and this looks like a terrific week for the Seahawks defense. The Seahawks allowed just three passing touchdowns over the last five games – as lock down as there is in the NFL. They haven’t allowed more than 78 yards rushing to any of their visiting Running Backs either this year. Seattle is peaking at the right time and should dominate this game from beginning to end. Expect a few turnovers, a share of sack and limited points from a seriously overmatched Rams offense this week.
2. Kansas City
The Chiefs have the pleasure of taking on the Cleveland Browns this week – the Browns played OK last week at Seattle but made a few expected game-changing mistakes along the way. Expect more of the same as the Chiefs, who are among the best in the league against Tight Ends lock down Gary Barnidge and force Johnny Manzeil to find his unflattering set of receivers in this one. It could get ugly as the red-hot Chiefs dominate this game on both sides of the ball.
Let’s be honest – AJ McCarron isn’t going to scare anybody, let alone the best pass defense in the game – Denver. I expect a fired-up Broncos defense to come out swinging to avenge an ugly effort last week and for this unit to prove that last week’s game against Pittsburgh was the exception, not the norm. Add in the fact that Tyler Eifert may not suit up again and this looks like a good bounce back spot for the best defense in the game. The Broncos have never allowed more than 69 rush yards to any visiting back – Denver will have the luxury of concentrating on the run in order to shut Hill and Bernard down. Cincinnati just isn’t the same without Andy Dalton – the Broncos will benefit from that fact!
The Panthers, like the Broncos have something to prove this week – against a mistake-prone Atlanta offense is a good spot to do just that! The Falcons have been awful offensively the second half of the season and were easily handled just a couple of weeks ago by this Carolina defense – I am expecting more of the same. The Panthers are absolutely elite folks – they should dominate the Falcons AGAIN.
The Texans suddenly have their own fate in their hands thanks to their win last week against Indianapolis. This week they get a below average Tennessee offense without Marcus Mariota at the helm. Zach Mettenberger scares nobody! I am expecting a big game from JJ Watt and company – they have a ton to play for and know the defense is the key to their success. Tennessee hasn’t been able to rush the ball all season long and with the injury to Mariota they will likely have a difficult time throwing it as well – advantage Houston!
