Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Preview
Last season the Heat and Pacers were tied at 2 games apiece in the Eastern Conference finals and they are tied at 2 this season. The Pacers came back strong with a home win in Game 4 and now this is a 3-game series. NBA lines have the Heat as 7.5-home favorites with a total of 184.5.
In Game 4 the Pacers beat the Heat 99-92.
On the season the Pacers are 53-44 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 48-47-2 and the Heat are 53-42 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 49-43-3.
This season the Heat are 42-6 at home and the Pacers are 22-26 on the road.
The Pacers got back to playing solid defense in Game 4 holding the Heat to 39% shooting from the floor.
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 44 points in Game 4, but they only combined to shoot 13/33 from the field. The other member of the Big 3 in Chris Bosh only had 7 points on 1-6 shooting and he needs to be more of a scoring factor in this game.
The Pacers killed the Heat on the boards in Game 4 (34-18) with David West and Roy Hibbert each grabbing 12 rebounds. You know something is wrong with the Heat if G Ray Allen is the leading rebounder in the game. Chris Bosh is one of the best forwards in the league, but in this series he is only averaging 3.3 rebounds per game. He, Chris Anderson, and Udonis Haslem have to hit the glass tonight and not let the Pacers dominate the boards again.
The Pacers are led by their frontcourt, but the guards of Lance Stephenson and George Hill combined for 39 points in Game 4. If the guards for the Pacers can get it going they will be tough to beat.
Miami allowed the Pacers to shoot 50% from the floor in Game 4 and the Heat cannot let that happen again. They need to body up on Roy Hibbert, who had a big Game 4 not only on the boards, but in the paint as well not letting him get easy shots near the bucket.
In some betting trends for this Eastern Conference finals game the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and they have an Over record of 5-0 in their last 5 games.
The Heat are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games, and they have an Over record of 5-0 in their last 5 games.
In the last 6 games between these 2 teams the total has gone Over every time.
Jason’s Pick: The Pacers have been solid in Miami in this series, but I think tonight James will come out HUGE and carry the Heat to a win and they will also cover.
