Game 1: Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs – Monday, March 11
At various betting websites in North America or the United Kingdom, you’re going to get a lot of conflicting opinions on this Monday’s game between the Thunder and the Spurs in a matchup of the two best teams in the Western Conference. You don’t have to be a legal online sports betting genius in order to realize that the Thunder are going to be given good odds in this contest for one simple reason: San Antonio’s starting point guard, Tony Parker, will be out for at least two more weeks with an injury, robbing the Spurs of the floor general they could really use against Russell Westbrook, a lethal point guard who should be able to run wild against Parker’s backups, who function in a committee style.
However, while Parker’s absence clearly gives the Thunder an edge, Oklahoma City struggled to put away the New York Knicks this past Thursday in the Big Apple despite the fact that New York was playing without superstar Carmelo Anthony. The Thunder were not able to impose their will on the Knicks in a road game, and given that the Spurs are so much deeper than the Knicks – not to mention better and more disciplined at both ends of the floor – it stands to reason that San Antonio could very easily pull out a win here. San Antonio’s role players could steal this game, but in the end, it’s just too hard to pick the Spurs without Parker. Oklahoma City is the smart choice on Monday.
NBA Betting Pick: Oklahoma City
Game 2: Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers – Monday, March 11
When you pore over the numbers in an online sportsbook, it’s clear that while the Nets are struggling, they’re probably going to have more left in the tank for this game than the 76ers will. Philadelphia has to play a Sunday night game in Orlando against the Magic. Yes, that’s a game Philadelphia should win, but the long flight from Florida will leave the Sixers at a deficit in terms of energy. Brooklyn got Sunday off, so its legs should be fresher, and since the Nets have the better team, they should be able to prevail. The Sixers won’t get Andrew Bynum back this season, so they’re routinely taking the court as a shorthanded unit. Brooklyn doesn’t have that same problem. Take the Nets.
NBA Betting Pick: Brooklyn
Game 3: Detroit Pistons @ Utah Jazz – Monday, March 11
When you mull over your options with respect to a college football betting opportunity, you should look at the bigger picture. Yes, Utah is struggling, but the Jazz know that on their schedule, they’re going to face a lot of tough teams in March as they try to hang onto a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Utah is aware that this is one of the few breathers on its schedule. Expect the Jazz to play with focus and urgency, beating an inferior Detroit team at home.
